Would Mako100 consider creating an official list of the ladies he has used, in the correct order? Stuts has done a great job... but I have doubts about Tippi Hedren (Kim Novak, maybe)... and I'm sure there are viewers wgho really want to know who is who... thank you for the great work... and thanks in advance for naming names...
In the immortal words of Ed McMahon, "You, sir, are correct!" It is Novak, indeed. My lame excuse is only that I must have mixed up my Hitchcock heroines.
Rita Hayworth is so beautiful, you guys who think the newer actresses are the hottest are like..so unappreciative of where beauty truly started. Also Ginger Rogers, Lilian Gish, Jean Harlow, Heddy Lamarr, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, and Carol Lombard deserve to be given a second look, they're incredibly beautiful women.
It makes perfect sense... If you read my previous comment, you'll see that mehappie is responding to it. Sure, there's some punctuation missing, but it makes sense. You're a moron videocritic.
stutz, i'm 90% sure that the face you identified as Jennifer Jones is actually Gene Tierney. And Deborah Kerr appears between Loretta Young and Judy Garland. And the Hitchcock Blonde between Taylor and Hepburn is Kim Novak, not Tippi Hedren. But you're still one up on me... didn't recognize Anne Baxter, Lollobrigida, Hedy Lamarr and a bunch of others. Isn't trainspotting fun.
WOW! this very thing happened to me the other day..I was eating what I thought were morel mushrooms (but they tasted funny) and all of a sudden my girlfriend's face did the same thing as this video...
...hey ace....really appreciate your contributions. They add so much depth, differences in perceptions, contrasts in views. Wipe yourself before touching your keyboard again, dolt.
Sorry...do you even know what a "dolt" is? Has something to do with stupefying stupidity....a topic with which you seem to be well acquainted.
My bad................................shit away. thx'2
I think I also saw:
Claudette Colbert? (between Norma Shearer and Jean Harlow)
Joan Fontaine? (between Loretta Young and Judy Garland)
Holly Hunter (between Kathleen Turner and Jodie Foster)
Julianne Moore (between Sandra Bullock and Diane Lane)
Sehr gut, Herr Screenguy. Colbert? No, but I that's the face I couldn't place. Further research is required. Fontaine? No, it's Kerr. I stand corrected. Hunter and Moore: yes, I missed them. Blame it on my age and that damn bong I got for my birthday. Aber danke, mein cinema bruder.
Stupid! stupiD! STUPID! what a waste of all these beautiful women's faces completely distracted by all the "click on me" commercial lines! and why do you not present their names....even though their face's ARE SO FAMILIAR TO US OLD 'SENIORS"....WE COULD USE SOME NAME HELP! LoL!
After Jennifer Jones is Olivia de Havilland followed by Ingrid Bergman. Then there's Ginger Rogers, Lorette Young (not sure here?), and Deborah Kerr. Kim Novak is between Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. Did anyone see Holly Hunter between Kathleen Turner and Jodie Foster?

Amidst the barrage of nit-picking and gaudy displays of knowledge, I am shocked and aghast that no one has chosen to aid in my list of more unique looking movie queens, if only to protest this parade of "beautiful" women. Marjorie Main, anyone? And Thelma Ritter is the hottie of bag ladies. Get my drift? Stop Rampant Lookism!
Betty Grable wasn't in a whole lot of films. Also, she's not nearly as gorgeous or talented as some of these woman, she's pretty much just loved for sharing her ass in her pin-up for World War Two...of course I totally agree with you about Myrna Loy.
Interesting...this is MY FILM.... NOT KIDDING.... I made this last summer and posted it to YouTube. I had no idea it was even on this site until a week ago. And it's got more hits than YouTube!!! Sorry not everybody was included. The piece was restricted by the length of the music and therefore a fixed number of people would be included. You can't get everybody. Don't believe I created it? Visit my youtube channel where it was posted first...
This is AMAZING. Fantastic job! You;re way too humble. What is wrong with all the people above with the lukewarm praise at best, & finding the flaws at worst?! Can't you just applaud a good work and not make "suggestions"? This must have taken FOREVER. Everyone's a critic now, thanks to reality TV. People, give this guy/gal a huge hand! This is incredibly well-done... ~ Happy with Just What I See!
Out of all these beautiful women, only two are black, and three are latino. The rest are white. It's not the person who made this really cool video's fault, but it definitely says something about our culture here in America. Just pointing it out to raise awareness and make people think a little. That being said, this is a video to be proud of :) Thanks!
This is a work of art...thanks for that incredible rendition of these beautiful women. Of course someone had to bring in the "Racial" tone AS USUAL! Now, if it were the other way around...would anyone complain? Get a life!
Congratulations, Stutz. This is the best thing that I've seen on the net. A superb setting for this show would be the outdoors TV displays at Millenium Park in Chicago.
First where is Lucille Ball and Gracie Allen?
Second did you notice how the shape of the faces were similar in the era of their greatness. Only one stood out as being totally different and that was Julia Roberts. I applaud her uniqueness. The work is one of greatness and the accompaniment of the music supurb. Thank you.

The fact that they have cops like you up there make me so much more content to live in the States.
Furthermore--in order to shoot me in the back of the head you'd have to convince me to turn my back...
Which you've already convinced me NOT to do.
I love it. Great job. As a film buff, this is amazing. I do wonder where a few of my faves are: Lucille Ball, Betty White and Jessica Alba. And with Selma acknowedged, one would think Penelope couldn't be missed. Which brings to mind Penelope Ann Miller...
Very nice, but I wish the faces morphed a little slower so you can figure out who is who & get a chance to look at how beautiful most of them are/were.
WOW! Best morphing sequence I have ever seen. Thank you for the beauty.
over 80 years of lovliness. I did not recognise all but most and I have played it several times just because it is great too watch.
This was BEAUTIFUL. A friend e-mailed this to me a week ago, I had no idea I'd be so entertained. A huge bravo to mako100 for this clever and stunning creation. As a fellow admirer of women in film, I'm quite inspired, so I hate to nitpick. But that's what art always does. It inspires "comment." So here's mine: after realizing that although almost all the women in the homage/montage follow our very much adhered to conventional and near universal aesthetic, there were some exceptions. Thankfully the uniquely gorgeous movie star Meryl Streep was included, so imagine my disappointment when my imminent visual climax wasn't achieved. Where was the only woman in cinema history to actually turn our preconceived notions of beauty on it's proverbial head? The one celluloid icon that made people (Ahem.) actually reconsider what is beautiful? The one that made men go, "Eh. Hey, wait a minute........hmmmmmmm. Yeah, I see it. Yum !!!"
Thanks Phillip for your eqqsquisite work! For those of you in Bris-vegas, Australia, I am starting a meet-up film group with Pan Paris. He has the most amazing archival film footage and we are going to show it, have refreshments and discuss it. We're hoping to replicate this group across Australia. Cost is minimal (eg $10 for 13 weeks) Check us out at: http://indiefilm.meetup.com/233/ We're also looking to make some documentaries on the topic. If you're interested in becoming involved contact me: thegoddessdiaries@yahoo.com cheers, Sarah
I don't deny that you have done a lovely job here. But what I think this film highlights is the very narrow definition of beauty in visual media (at least in the West). Where are all the beautiful women of Asian, Latina, Indian, African, Polynesian, Middle Eastern etc etc descent? Does one have to be white (and thin!), or at least not overwhelmingly 'ethnic' to be beautiful?
I think the purpose of this film is to show the history of leading women in HOLLYWOOD. How many Polynesian actresses have been leading ladies in major Hollywood productions? The lack of diversity is more a reflection of Hollywood perceptions throughout the years rather than a statement by the creator of what constitutes feminine beauty.
Pharma: See my above post about rampant lookism. I stand with ugly chicks. And thank you, paperlock, for responding with reason to an argument undeserving of one.
There's no doubt about it - Hollywood 'had it', and you, Philip, have done a sterling job in exemplifying this.
Nevertheless, to appease those whose favourites were omitted, why not do a mark 2 with a longer soundtrack, say, Wagner's Ring Cycle? You could hold my personal favourite, Paulette Goddard, for the entire duration of 'Siegfried'!
