It wasn't Bush, per say. It was something called the New World Order. They have their own views on how to run the planet. Rockerfellers are involved. World Trade Centre was a blind.
And Bush was sitting in a primary classroom. Trying to talk to the future of Republicans. While a Secret Service agent was whispering into his ear. 'Sir, we have a problem.'
Cloud iridescence, I love watching these with my shades on to really pop the color!
They put on their show when water droplet size in the clouds are mostly uniform, then add the right sun angle and you get almost pure coherent diffracted sunlight, similar to a rainbow (yet not the same).
From my understanding the Aurora phenomenon is completely different from this in that it occurs only in gaps in the Earth's protective magnetic field where ions from the sun bombard our atmosphere causing the different hues as electrons are dislodged.
In this case it is diffraction. Diffraction always occurs when propagating waves (light) encounter obstacles in their paths (water molecules), its effects are generally most pronounced for waves where the wavelength is on the order of the size of the diffracting objects.
Dispersion occurs when light leads to chromatic aberration in a lens or the separation of colors in a prism, aka the rainbow effect.
I can't wait for the next solar maximum (2012)! I love the northern lights, aka aurora borealis. I was up in the UP of Michigan (2001) when I noticed the snow was red, I looked up and saw the most intense light show, there were northern, southern and straight overhead aurora's so bright it lit up the night!
With the greatest of respect surferbum, I think it's a little rich for an American to call the Chinese "stupid polluters", given GWB's procrastination on Kyoto and the fact that the USA is one of the planet's highest polluters.
None of us are exempt from criticism. Try Athens, Warsaw, Glasgow etc in Europe.
To be fair Miter, most reports I see still suggest the US contributes approx 24-25% of global emissions. On a per capita basis the conclusion is that the US is the largest polluter.
China and India are simply not as efficient at converting fossil fuels and nor can they afford to. It's the norm when developing nations rapidly industrialize. Remember what the industrial revolution did to US and European cities?
It's not the fault of any one country as Arse says, but it IS beholden on those who can afford it to lead the way on alternatives. In my view the effort made by all the industrialized nations has so far been pretty half hearted. Guess that's why we're so busy deciding how to own and carve up the middle east...
Regards the World Bank figures, citing individual cities is not really the way to look at it, otherwise all that happens is that list of cities simply gets awarded to the next batch of developing countries to climb a rung up the industrialization ladder... Think someone referred to the World Bank as the "Enron of Carbon Trading"
Whatever...It needs to be a properly global initiative which is kinda what Kyoto was naively trying to be
Now I'm kinda hot and need a little a/c. Coal powered of course.
Necessity will be, as ever, be the mother of invention once we really run out of all this polluting crap. That or nuke power.
I see the Director of Greenpeace now endorses nuke by the way...
I just googled up most polluted in the world and that's what came up! Actually that came up in a lot of the "hits"! Google it yourself and see what you get.
Hmmmm.....
Not convinced. I wonder how many polluting sites worldwide are run by US companies? Not that I'm an eco freak or anything, but I think the Chinese and Indians are taking a lot of flak from people who are no better. It'sa bit like the old Hungarian saying - The owl calling the sparrow fathead!
The US has a per capita energy use of about 3-4 times that of European industrialized nations. This has more to do with lack of energy use awareness, like inferior thermal isolation in houses, excessive use of (inefficient) A/C, driving oversized cars with inefficient engines, etc.
We are not sitting on trees here in Europe and there still is a lot of energy waste going on here, but the USA is topping this by a very high margin.
Oh, and: With the current soaring of the energy costs wasting energy is an important competetive factor in the world market.
BTW: China is using about 3 times as much energy to produce products than Europe does, puts them in about the same class as the USA. Go figure how long this will work.
bug - The last administration that had a rational energy policy, was Carter. Since then special interests that lobby DC, control energy and everything else here.
I wish the answer was voting, but it is not.
The bullshit that is spouted by the various industries here will drown even the best swimmer.
How is that solar power thing working out? I like the idea, but here it would be riddled with corruption, and would never get off the ground.
I think when they post the foreign vids, they should offer translation sub-titles at the bottom. I also think these colors are probably pretty much a normal occurance from time to time, and don't really have any connection to the earthquake itself. The sky would really have no way of knowing what's going on under the ground, would it?
Here is a different view on the upcoming election from a guy in Denmark:
We in Denmark cannot figure out why you in the USA are even bothering to hold an election.
On one side, you have a white shrew who is a lawyer, married to another lawyer; and then you have a black lawyer who is married to a shrew who is also a lawyer.
On the other side you have true war hero married to a woman with an awesome figure who owns a beer distributorship.
Oh and the earthquake connection
I have read this news and many people are discussing about this on RichMingle.com, a site for celebrities and wealthy people. Really hot!
