Oh..Glumbert has heard our pleas and has summoned his Son UMBER God The mighty Technoviking to lead his children!! Technovikink is totally Macking to the beat of the song........I love it!
Alrighty then, I am announcing my abdication from the church of Squirrel.....I thought the whole gosh darn Squirrel thing came from that uber funny video.....I just found out I have been turning my back on my true idol....the prairie dog video....omg the eyes....he has power in his eyes....
Ze Skvirrel vos mein idea! I do not know vether to confess zis or boast about it, but ze files vill prove me correct.
Anyvon who vishes to disown ze Skvirrel may do so, but ze true believers vill keep ze faith.
Zis Technoviking creature must haf been spawned ven I vos in Zanzibar - who is he?
Danke Schon Herr Shinning.
You are ein new Glumberter to me, but it is alvays nice to read polite vords among ze rudeness ve see now und zen on zis site.
I haf been unvell since returning from ze dark continent. Perhaps ein touch von malaria? Ze sympoms are kvite interesting.
Last night I vos - how do you say? - making ze rumpy pumpy vith mein betrothed Conchita und as she vos in ze throes von passion, I vomited onto her face. You vould sink I had done somesink terrible. She has not spoken to me since, but I vill give her ein bunch von flowers und all vill be vell.
Vell, she vos not amused
whoever you are, just like to say, you have without doubt entertained a great deal, when reading your postings i always seem to drift off into your little world in south america with your fucking amodillos!!and conchita, always good to read, you are a clever fokker
dear sir. At your first appearance on these threads hereabouts,, I cried ALIAS! Many will attest to that fact!
It does however,, not take away from the Brilliance you displayed in your portrayal of the caricature of the sad and often misunderstood adofvanker! You also brought to the field the tragic and downtrodden figure of the lost soul Fearofflying! Bravo,,Bravo..thoe I knew them both to be aliases, never did I suspect the puppet master was one in the same!!
Yes indeed. Carelessness has seen me rumbled at last.
Time for confessions and contrition. I am a bored Scottish journalist who couldn't resist creating a few oddball characters to irritate, stimulate, infuriate, and - I hope - entertain the denizens of Glumbert. I hope my efforts have been received in the spirit in which they were intended.
I'll miss Adolf - but i think his bizarre world was getting past its sell-by date and a bit weary. Sorry if the ridiculous accent was hard to take!
Fearofflying began a few months back as a very different character. I think her first post suggested she was a feminist (Erica Jong indeed, Herr Stutz) who also had a sideline as a hooker. She has since gone via foul-mouthed ignoramus to the inhabitant of a bathos-heavy world where she and her sister have been subjected to unspeakable acts by their backwoodsman father. I would have liked to develop her into a more sympathetic personality, but I think that might have been impossible!
Pistaker - the loathsome mighty masturbator - was always going to be a busted flush, especially after his insane rants against barnsleyfc.
So farewell for now guys. Who knows? Maybe Conchita or Pedro, or even a talking armadillo may make an appearance in future. Stranger things have happened....
Please don't go.....Please don't go.....Please don't go.......mmmmmmmmm (I forget the words)....Please don't go.....anywho......you get the idere methinks.
i think you'll have to leave it for the next generation of glumberters or maybe find another site before you introduce another character, once bitten.
But do remember people have played along with your games, do you really think people have taken you and the other characters seriously. OK fearofflying was pretty good but to be honest i never paid much notice to her, pistaker was scottish so maybe the closest to your true self, stutz was a good effort but surreal and as for adolf he was just mind blowingly nuts!
i'm out of here for a while, can't get my head around the northern americans, just can't relate to there whining
Skid - "the northern americans, just can't relate to there whining " I'm glad to be among the whining Americans. Thank you, and here is why:
Dissatisfaction is how humanity advances, and acceptance is stagnation.
Americans are always dissatisfied with the state of almost EVERYTHING. This is the source of American creativity and advancement. Griping and complaining is the spoken precursor of necessity (the mother of invention), and the design and engineering that will eventually attempt to correct the problem.
We love to change things, and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is here on the internet you only see the griping, and not the fixing, so the view is skewed. So please sit back and watch the northern Americans change the world again. It will make good viewing.
There's been a programme on British TV called tribe, don't know whether you've seen it, it's a guy travelling around the world visiting and living with the few remaining tribes in the world, now without fail every tribe he lives with has more humanity than any westernized civilisation you can name.
This proves to me that modern advancement is a means to the end, but without dealt, man will get there, where ever he is going and you above have highlighted the exact reason why we will get there, through a blind need to improve, be better than the rest, never be happy with what we've got, wanting more and more until our fat fucking guts drop !!
America changes the world, great i can't wait , you've been doing so well up until now, i really can't imagine what you lot will do next, but be sure we will all be so impressed!! ARROGANCE !
Skid - Perhaps you're having a bad day or week. I have had more than a few of those. I was not attempting to make your day any worse, and I hope things get better. No offense intended really.
Change is life, Life is change.
I don't understand why you are so upset here. But I guess because I am an Engineer I embrace change as a good thing. I'm not stating that change does not cause pain or discomfort, but in the end engineering has saved more lives than it has taken.
As to how the world (humanity) uses these feats of engineering is more of the aspects of human nature than of applied science. Even without all of the comforts and terrors that science and engineering has brought to human advancement, people would be doing other people harm.
I choose not to squat in a cave eating raw bison, but plan and engineer a civilization that may one day find peace and wondrous adventure in a very big universe. As a engineer, I am befuddled as to the dark nature of humanity. Engineers want peace and progress, not hate and destruction.
I see the dark nature to humanity and I have no explanation for it, but I don't think it is a aspect of technological advancement, but to religion and ignorance.
apologies, you're right having a bad day, i have respect for you two guys and a few others on here, no offense a.
I'll keep this discussion at a respectable level,
whether we like it or not change happens i believe it is part of human nature, i believe advancements of certain types like in medicine are a good think (there again there are some ethical questions there), advancements on others levels have to be assessed and questioned as to what advantage will be gained, who will gain from it and how it will affect other things/people around it, if all the boxes are ticked hey no problem, this should also include where the materials are mined that are used for these improvements, how they effect the people who live near the mines, work the mines, the enviromental impact etc, basically every aspect should be analysised.
As for american whining, hey i love whining, us humans love to whine, it's just i don't always understand your particular whining, as in it's lost in translation !! no offense meant there
Skid - No problem. Glad this Glumbert bit of tech could help smooth out a bit of misunderstanding before you called it quits. Anyway there many here on Glumbert who offend me a great deal, but maybe in the end peace will win out.
To change the subject. Do you guys do the Halloween thing over there. It is now the biggest holiday in the US! It really is a cool event, but all I do now is turn a sugar pumpkin into pumpkin pies. I love pie.
Like the irony attached to using a computer and my argument, hypocrisy rules!! Not one for Halloween here, well not like the US, but Bonfire night is coming up thats probably the equivilant to your halloween as in the amount of people taking part
hey i'm still on glumbert, i threaten to leave but i'm in a real boring job which involves large scale construction(Hypocrisy from me again i know), so i meet structural engineers they all seem very nice people, always over engineering, but i would if someones life depending on it.
What, are there like only five people making all these comments? Adolf, honestly, really enjoyed your posts, always, strange accent and all. I'm not as fervent a glumberter as I should be though, and I'm confused. What is you original name??
I've already posted on the Botton thread spelling out my views on Steiner institutions. Created by a madman, run by madmen for madmen. A bit like Glumbert really - basically harmless but impossible to take seriously. I'm just waiting for the pompous idiot canuck1963 to get all excited about the fact someone has the nerve to have a name that looks like his, and then my life will be complete. Maybe - if we're lucky - he'll treat us all to 5,000 words of juvenile platitudes about the Republicans or the annual Alberta wheat production figures and how the free world owes its very existence to the Mighty Maple Leaf. I wonder if Michael Moore employs him as a researcher for his equally juvenile "sitting duck target" movies?
I think these have been very cleansing threads for many, a new start... a break from the heavy burden of Glumbertdom(ania) that keeps us all enraptured over the next video to be posted... a joy to behold... but sad to see zee outing of zee Adolf
