what a moron, oh hang on that would be insultin morons to call him that. this urban disrespect is an indication of an upcoming generation of losers. they'll wake up around 35 and wonder what the hell they are going to do now that they've lost half a life.... it's cool to play but not at other ppls expense... grow up.
lwboy: how does someone as young and inexperienced as you DESERVE a computer? sorry. that was mean, but Catsvillage is right. If u can't understand why this clip is a prime example of 'urban disrespect I have to wonder exactly WHAT would U consider disrespectful.
And as this is Glumbert and the argumentative skills of this crew tend to be sophmoric at best, I dare U to consider the question seriously, and to answer with actual non-profain words in full sentences.
Yo, dawg! Bring dat pipe ova heer an lets smokeded it. I bets U burn sum fine weed, cat. Wen you git hi U gits on Glumburt an proficize poetic. Glamerous!
Pipedog, you keep speaking of Urban Disrespect as though it is a term that actually exists. You see in an argument, which is obviously what you're looking for, you must clearly define your terms.
To me, urban disrespect is the displacement of people, entire families and forcing them to move... maybe you're familiar with gentrification. I consider urban disrespect, the inability to provide education to those that need it most at an affordable price. As Americans, isn't it our right to be educated? I consider urban disrespect to be the impetus of a criminal life. A criminal life in which one is forced to commit crime as it is the only way to amass a livable income when only minimum wage positions are open to you. I say this because this is the environment I live in. I know suburban queens and kings like yourselves may have a different view on urban life. Maybe some people are just EEEEVIIILLL... or maybe they just need the money. I was talking to the drug dealer I live next to and he said that he hates what he does... But his son has special needs that are impossible to meet with a normal 7.85 wage.
Anyway... Obviously, this is just a display of a young man's athletic talent... at the expense of others, which is okay on occasion. Life is boring and every once in a while a soccer ball needs to spice things up for others. Innocent fun.
Pacmansex: So Urban Disrespect ( a term invented here, for all I know.) to you, means the decay of modern urban centers, and all that that brings. hmmm, fair enough I guess.
I believe that U may have a valid point, although I feel that U missed the link between the 'Minor' Urban Disrespect shown in this vid, and the Urban Decay that U spake of. Is kicking a ball into another persons already busy life, any more 'acceptable' than ...lets say.....yelling profanities at people on the street from a 3rd story apt. I don't know. But I do know that neither of them makes the city a better place to live. The Big problems ,you aptly mentioned ,are naught more than many little ones.
If we accept little disrespects to our scocial environment every day without protest , and even go as far as to laughingly endorse them, how much weight do our complaints at the cumulative results carry?
pacmansex get a gun ,a 22 will do ,place at back of your neighbors skull and pull the trigger 2 times that's the urban disrespect this person deserves. Why? because he is part of the urban food chain that makes our society spiral down. If you are a chicken shit whimp ,I will be happy to oblige and I know a few people in your wonderful city that would do the same . Help 100's of people kill the fucker! Oh let us know where this magot lives
What? Bitch you crazy. This guy is French. And he most surely does not deserve a bullet nor two in the brain. That's absolute bullshit and irrational. The ambulance move was a little shitty, but the rest was really not a big fuckin deal. Why am I killing my neighbor? I hear enough gun shots in my neighborhood and I don't want anything to do with any of them. You are taking this way too hard CM, obviously this "urban food chain" (which is also a term exclusive to Glumbert alone.) Obviously he is near the top of the "urban food chain" because he's taking advantage of those below him. And those "below" him are people not doing crazy shit.
This is easily the stupidest argument I've ever taken part in... My original point still stands -- There are much more important things going on than some guy kicking a soccer ball very accurately into things. That's it. He's one person - one VERY talented person that decided to fuck around ONCE. There is no evidential proof that he does this on a regular basis.
Agree with the above; didn't see anyone really hurt, just surprised and angry which is also understandable. Looks like most people were just minorly inconvenienced in exchange for an amazing event.
None of this was done with malice, it was just boyish rowdy fun.
Pipedog and catsvillage: No worries, no profanity will be forthcoming.
First off, my point was that the term "urban disrespect" sounds itself, well, just kinda square. Particularly to apply it to this video, so I concluded you were probably not a young person that would be more entertained by the video, or the ACDC music. And to complain that this video shows such "urban disrespect" that it is evidence of a generation of losers - please. It is a video of a guy kicking a soccer ball around town. Showing some fairly mad skill at it by the way. A couple of times he kicks the ball where he should have known it would tick someone off. But all in all, fairly harmless. It was a soccer ball, not a brick, not a Molotov cocktail - keep some perspective here.
You asked me what I would consider a good video example of "urban disrespect". Probably any video of people rioting or looting would qualify. A video of union workers striking and not picking up garbage/driving the transit trains and buses would get there for me as "urban disrespect". A video of someone dumping garbage or waste or pollution into a city also makes the grade. Someone spray painting graffiti on a war memorial definitely passes for "urban disrespect".
Do you see the difference between my examples, and the young man out kicking a ball into a dumpster or a water fountain? (yeah, I know, the ambulance could have had a dying nun in it - which is why the driver leapt out to chase the kicker half way down the street)
Gotta go now and practice some kicks (oh calm down and stop dialling 911 - - I will be in a properly designated urban recreational area and/or facility (hereinafter described as "the park"), and hereby give notice that I do not intend to cause, or knowingly permit or encourage any third person to cause, any urban disrespect (as herein defined in Glumbert post of July 2, 2008) to any person, property, place or thing within the boundary of the park.
