Thank you riza! Hope your holiday has been great, and enjoying time with your daughter! I've had a pretty great day with my family, but tired out now and ready to retreat to my room with my computer temporarily!
Til next time!

Riza - warm wishes right back to you, one of the nicer Glumertarians. Hope your Christmas is being special for you.
Same for all the Glumbert regulars who have come to know each other in a very special way. I think reality often may be off-putting. This site permits each of us to imagine whatever we wish regarding our posting buds as we compliment/criticize/converse. I really enjoy that aspect of Glumbert.
I won't be setting up a photo site (I actually don't know how, but that's not the point). I probably won't visit them either...but I am known for poor predictions and mind-changes...and succumbing to the temptations of life, so maybe I will.
Perhaps I'll change my mind at some point, but for now I want to continue the happy (mostly) enchantment I've developed with chatting with you all.
'Nuff said for now. From my beautiful New England Atlantic Coast to wherever you are, best wishes.
chaz, hope you had a wonderful day! This has truly been one of the nicest Christmas Day's in my recent memory. My parents were here, they were thrilled to spend time with my daughter. Of course, the other kids too, but they hadn't seen her in a year. My parents did not have ONE single cross word to each other, the whole day, which is an almost UNheard of occurance. We had a great meal, which I will most modestly admit to cooking single handedly, and a great time talking and visiting and sipping a little Christmas cheer. It has been a nice day, but a tiring one!
No photos necessary chaz, whatever makes you happy, I'm there for ya!
Talk soon.

FTB - glad your holiday was so nice. My wife did a standing rib-roast, twice baked potatoes, and "real" au jus (much better than restaurant, or canned au jus), along with broccoli a la bernaise. God forgive me for occasional gluttony...it was super. Plus a wonderful "brut" champagne from an upstate New York winery (Wagner's, for those who may have a chance to visit the east side of Seneca Lake).
Just want to thank you for all the most gentle and caring posts you've contributed over time. And your fun sense of humor. You do have a really attractive quality that shows through, which accounts for all the "boys" beating on your door. I'd be there too, except I have a terrific wife who I love a great deal, and am truly afraid of (when she argues, she always uses facts, and is on point - a terribly distracting feature when I am the object of her comments), and I'm not about to risk my good standing with her these days via ill-advised Glumbert postings (but then, as I have said earlier, I do change positions from time to time, and am influenced by current events, and so, remain "flexible" (a useful word to replace "flip-flop"...Romney should learn this).
All this just kidding...just LOVE your single handed efforts, and anything generated in a kitchen...that is real life.
Probably not a good idea chaz, to risk your good standing with your wife! I do so adore hearing a man say he's afraid of his wife though, (you can guess I'm chuckling here, but kind of true!). To me, it shows he is good naturedly trying to "appease" her, which of course translates into, he loves her. And she sounds like a great cook. You are indeed a lucky man!
I'm a little blue today though. Had to see my daughter off, and trying to recover from that. Already looking forward to the next visit.
I want to wish all of my regular, fellow posters/personalities hereabouts a very sincere Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Specifically, that goes out to: Billy-B; Randal; Mako100; Chaz; Riza; Freetobe; Mitercut; Skidmarks; Podman; Colonel A. Vanker; thebug; surferbum22; useddouchebag; Lord Stutz, and anyone else I may have mistakenly missed.
As for myself, it's been a nice holiday; the wife and I got up this a.m., watched the kids do all of their unwrap mayhem; we both curled up on the couch in our jammies and coffees while watching them; the wife makes a comment laughing, about how I reminded her of Darren McGavin playing the "Dad" role in "A Christmas Story"; I said "HUH???", and she laughed harder; all that was missing was my oldest saying he wanted a Red Ryder B-B Gun (although my middle fella got a toy shotgun----he flipped right out over it). Then the turkey started to get done, and jesus did it smell effin' good! Had dinner, and let the kids go off and play. And that was that.
Although busy, I'm sorta glad it's all said and done with.....but sorta not.
Does that make any sense? Oh well.
No petty political games tonight, though. No arguing about war, health care or terrorism. I figure we'll all have plenty of time for that in the coming year. And may I continue to enjoy the company of you fine folks in the process, whether it's to agree or argue, laugh or cry, scream or whisper. In the end, it sure makes for some memorable moments, I think.
Once again....all the best to you and yours wherever you might be, from this tiny corner in Ontario, Canada.
Merry Christmas C! All the best. Free has got us started on the road to showing ourselves (if we so wish) So far she, myself, Usaranger and Miter are on board with UDB in the wings. If you are interested www.myspace.com/billboat . You can link to the others from there.
canuck, I could almost picture it! You have a way with words. I do know what you mean, exactly, about being all over with. It's hard to describe, but for me, it's kind of like, while it is so wonderful, all the good times and talking and eating and cooking and presents and friends and family, it's almost, just almost, a relief when it's over because it's so intense. It's nice to settle back down into a more normal state. Although, as I've mentioned and everyone is probably getting sick of hearing, it was really hard to see my daughter go. Otherwise, I'm fine with Christmas being over for another year, and hope the next one is as great as this one was!
Now just get through New Year's, we'll be doing good!
P.S. The coach in this video acted/sounded/looked like a complete imbecile. If the man put that much angst and passion into something else (i.e. something that could have had a positive impact towards his community/fellow man), he might have been a brain surgeon or something.
In that case C, can I interest you in a nice home in Michigan?
Four bedroom, newly remodeled bathrooms and kitchen, two car attached garage, with mature trees and landscaping on one acre. Last year (06) appraised value...$255,000, this year's "market value"....$175,000, I owe $195,000, I see a problematic downward curve forming on the chart of equity! This house like my country is "upside down"!
I actually ate Chinese last night for Christmas dinner! It was a blast, the place was packed!
Anyway C, happy New Year to you and family, and to all the glumbert gang, may this year be the best so far!
I'm in southeast MI near Ann Arbor, which has always been an "island" of economic prosperity...no matter what else is going on...but not lately, with many "tech" jobs leaving to China and the whole auto situation it's been...interesting! Working for doctors, lawyers, dentists etc, has been keeping me afloat...but for how long? Scary times ahead........
Merry Christmas all, didnt come online 24th (when I celebrate) or 25th (when most people celebrate) so just want to say it now - hope you all had a great time and got everything you hoped for (not just presents - I'm talking family, health, and good memories =) etc) Have a great New Year everyone all the best for 2008!
He's pissed the government (at that time) just banned psudoephedrine, or just found out his rolling methlab was just stolen from the stadium parking lot.
