Point being, of course, is that the Marines DID act like soldiers, and DID perform as such, and that my boadside was directed at Helldivers apparent support for the current concept of torture, and murder (sorry.....his words....not mine), meaning those Marines really WERE part of The Greatest Generation....unlike GWB's shadowy henchmen of today.
Does that make any sense now?

Plus....something just occurred to me, Mr. Chaz, and I'm gonna ask you this, in the spirit of clarification from yourself:
I hold no animosity over your indignation over my comments; as I've said, if it came across wrong...I'll clarify (which, hopefully, I did). Granted, my delivery of some things on various topics have been pretty ...colorful....and I rightly take my lumps for them. I even expect it, and that's fair game. Quid-pro-quo all the way. However......as you've no doubt seen....some posters hereabouts were not content to remain at coming at me over the substance of the issues I was opining about (or even how I expressed them...as I said, THAT would STILL be fair game), rather they have taken it many, many steps further, by dragging my career, my family, my hobby and my nation as a WHOLE into it-----whereas I have not engaged them on this level a single, solitary time. Ever.
So....here's my question, to YOU:
Why the speedy condemnation from YOU, Sir, ("What an awful post, Cman.........goddammit....clean up your act!") over comments I made (hopefully which I've clarified, as I've said)......and yet.....no inclination to signal a clear foul on some of heated, sweeping venom from SOME of YOUR countrymen?
Don't get me wrong....I'm a big boy. I can take care of myself. I think I've made that abundantly clear.
Buuuuut..........when you decide to stand up and call one on something, as is your perogative......then surely you have an obligation to point out the the other end of the spectrum and act with as much vigor and enthusiasm by pointing them out as well....yes? And by that, I mean SPECIFICALLY pointing them out with their comments, as you did with myself?

And I never supported torture and murder of terrorists. Execution after being found guilty by trial, or death on the battlefield, aren't murder.
So if the old WW2 generation, using flame-throwers and machine guns to slaughter fanatical suicidal Japanese were the real Americans, then you must be implying that the current generation of US marines are somehow pure evil, blind order following robots, or Bush's hired henchmen? Is that what you really meant?
By the way, I never attacked your hobby, wife, or country. I don't think anyone actually attacked your wife, and I've defended your country. I may have taken a slight jab at your career, but only to give you the opportunity to prove yourself, which you haven't done yet.
