For goodness sakes, people....there isn't a skinny bear in the crowd. Good life for them, I'd guess. Better than roaming the woods trying to find things to eat like, berries, campers, pets, and there are damn few honey-filled beehives out there.
Zoos are founded on at least two firm bases.....protect and preserve, and present for the education and understanding of the public.
Clearly, this public is enjoying an exposure to a part of nature otherwise beyond their ability ever to arrange individually. And the animals are obviously well cared for.
BTW....there are a lot of these animals in the wild, should any wish to visit them there. Tip: don't get close enough to them to toss them food.
But they have a whole commune in this zoo... that goes a little beyond education and understanding. I mean I have nothing against zoos but it kind of sucks to see such cool animals begging for food. It doesent seem natural.
