If you don't take risks in life or challenge yourself then you're not really living as far as I'm concerned. The men who fly in these shows accomplish both. Now, at the same time, you wouldn't catch me doing what they do. Just FYI I know the pilots who fly in the Canadian Snowbirds are only allowed to do it for four years and then they are out because of the risk involved.
Just saw the annual Toronto International Airshow this weekend, and was really impressed.
The Snowbirds were, as usual, totally awesome.
Plus, they rolled out the F-22 Raptor, a P-51 Mustang, a CF-18 Hornet and an F-16 Viper. They even threw a few WWI Fokkers into the mix.
A truly awesome show.
I read about this Polish incident on the way down there, and that was too bad. These pilots have a lot of guts to not only fly these aircraft, but be able to do acrobatics with them.
A pity this simple appreciation is lost on a few of the inferiors on this site, but what can ya say?
An F-16 is a Falcon or technically a Fighting Falcon. The viper is only a nickname the pilots use and you certainly are not a pilot, so get it right. Of course, your great and vast knowledge of the US military knew that.
lordandmaster, how many times will drive your car before you finally say "screw that". The odds are you will be mashed in your car many time's more than crash even once flying in an air show!
