Puts me in mind of the time I auditioned for a part as a native in the 1996 version of Tarzan the Ape Man, starring Sean Penn as Tarzan and Jennifer Lopez as Jane. I think Mickey Rourke played the chimp, but my memory, although pretty good, sometimes lets me down, so I could be wrong on that one.
Anyway - Warner Brothers wanted an Olympic standard swimmer to play this native guy who had to swim across a lake chased by a mechanical crocodile. So, of course, I figured I'd be ideal for the part. (I've got a lifesaving certificate and 50 metres badge).
Well, they dressed me in a loincloth and put me in this big pool and told me to swim as fast as I could away from this big mechanical croc. Only problem was it caught me and bit me on the ass after about ten metres.
The producer said I "wasn't quite what they were looking for."
Fuck them! The original movies with Johnny Weisgripper were much better anyway.
Canvck1963: You're much too cleaver to be wasting your time putting comments on this website. It's the same half-dozen names over and over again. Think about it; there are five billion people on the planet and the same six or seven on glumbert every day (minute?) trying to secure the first post under their name. It seems to me that the first poster would either have to have been a coincidence or more probably, somebody that sits on the website daily and is constantly pushing the refresh button until a new video has been posted and they finally hit the JACKPOT, the coveted "first post". That's sad. Taking a few minutes a day too watch the videos is interesting, but spending one's time trying to be the first to poster is pathetic.
Tzzz, don't you know that the first posts are paid for? You discreetly pay glumbert a certain sum and deposit some text to drop in and they will do that for you on the next available video.
Huh, that's funny. I used to know a guy by the last name of Phelps, he was a loser, too. Ironically, if his family immigrated during a war, they would have been given a name, and for a lot of people that weren't even related, it would have been the same. Perhaps Phelps just came with bad luck attached to it.
I can't go swimming. It's just too much for everyone else at poolside. I've tried everything - huge baggy trunks included, but my enormous penis just gets too much attention. And it's a bit of a handicap in the water.
Still, if guys like Phelps want to thrash up and down the lanes with their tiny dongs, that's ok.
- Lehman Brothers (LEH: 13.45, -0.96, -6.66%) could raise up to $5 billion by the early part of next week, Bloomberg reported, citing an anonymous source. The firm is in talks with a foreign investor and at least one domestic pension fund. Separately, Lehman may release its second-quarter earnings about a week ahead of schedule next week to tie news of its weak financials to news of its improving capital position in order to pacify investors, The New York Post reported.- American International Group (AIG: 18.78, -1.09, -5.48%) is the subject of a federal investigation into whether the firm exaggerated the worth of its contracts tied to subprime mortgages, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing anonymous sources. The Securities and Exchange Commission is conducting the investigation and has been contacted by the Justice Department officials in Washington and the U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn about sharing its findings, suggesting a criminal investigation may be in the works.- National City (NCC: 4.78, -0.20, -4.01%) has entered a "memorandum of understanding" with federal regulators, in which the bank is given a chance to work through its financial woes with federal officials without alerting and panicking depositors. The deal with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency was forged in the last month or so, The Wall Street Journal reported, without citing its sources.
I like the fact that the USA changes the medal table so that they come first by winning more medals (gold, silver, bronze), when the rest of the world ranks by number of gold medals, and only use silver, then bronze to split ties.
In the early days of the Bush administration they treated North Korea like the extortionists they really are (the only thing I ever admired about Bush), and then Bush flip flopped on this too, and said, oh yes if you stop this or that the US taxpayer is happy to send you mountains of cash.
Training to be a top swimmer destroys your youth. It takes so long that there is little time to develop any social skills. Most swimmers are subjected to parent pressure.
Bottom line is that swimming can be done by anybody prepared to put in the pool miles. It is a boring spectator sport, and produces uniformly dull, moronic participants.
Sorry, but I know these things to be true.
this vid was really fun to watch....just a big joke, and done pretty damn well. phelps seems like a great person...he'd probably lauigh his ass off at this one.
Hey gym....I guess you and I are both waiting to see mor of dara , right? Man, she's in terrific shape.......i don'[t thikn she feels like she wasted her youth, and she sure didn't do this because of parental pressure either. and she lost her solo race by the smallest margin, like phelps won one of his...like one hundredth of a second........what a shame.
