This reinds me of the time I auditioned for a part in Paper Moon, starring Tatum O'Neal and Warren Beatty. I was hoping to play "The Cart Driver" - a wizened old man who grunted a lot and had the hots for Tatum. Well, I was half way there. I always thought she was a babe, even though some folks might say that makes me a pedophile. All I know is a man gets urges, so fuck you all. The director saw me jerking off when Tatum came on to the set, and that was as far as it went. He had me beaten up by the key grip and thrown off the lot. Fuck them! It was a crap movie. Oscar schmoscar!!
This reminds me of the time I tried out for the second Star Wars movie. You know the drill: spaceships, laser cannons, and people in latex masks that are supposed to be aliens. So naturally, I needed a costume. And what better role to fill than the lovely Princess Leia? I found the long white dress, plastic laser pistol, and a perfect pair of shoes. (And all at the local dollar store!) And headed to try out. As soon as I got there, I headed to audition, and was instantly swayed by the fact that they wanted to adjust my costume by turning my hair into a set of matching cinnamon rolls. And as if that isn't enough, there was a scene where they wanted me to kiss Michal Jackson, (Who was playing Han solo.) Ah well, fuck em. George Lucas is a dick-face anyway.
Praise god! finally got that mans doinker out of my ass! and gosh, i never thought id get out of that truckers cab! well, gotta go.. i heard theres a church service tonight, and you know how that is.. im fucked if i dont show up.. and i could use a joint, too.. well buh-bye kiddies!
Or, in the case of viral fame-seeking males, which show an unfortunate lack of brain cells, groin crushing. Females are quite lucky in that sense.. but all the sexism from the more macho of the two probably is not worth it.
WASHINGTON : Senior officials from the Bush administration and the Federal Reserve on Friday informed top executives of mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that the government was preparing to seize the two companies and place them in a conservatorship, officials and company executives briefed on the discussions said. The plan, effectively a government bailout, was outlined in separate meetings that the chief executives were summoned to attend on Friday at the office of the companies' new regulator. The executives were told that, under the plan, they and their boards would be replaced, shareholders would be virtually wiped out, but the companies would be able to continue functioning with the government generally standing behind their debt, people briefed on the discussions said. It is not possible to calculate the cost of any government bailout, but the huge potential liabilities of the companies could cost taxpayers billions of dollars and make the rescue among the nation's largest ever. Under a conservatorship, the remaining common and preferred shares of Fannie and Freddie would be worthless, and any losses on mortgages they own or guarantee could be paid by taxpayers.
"Financial markets have come to expect that an investment by the U.S. Treasury would explicitly back the companies' $1.6 trillion in debt, but leave their shares nearly valueless."
Pod, could you explain to me why you feel under a McCain presidency "the country is finished" and further, why an Obama presidency would be any better? (My personal opinion has us screwed either way)
Miter - If McCain wins, then all will be, as it has been so far. It will be a continuation of the Bush doctrine, both domestic and internationally. The same group elected and franchised, will hold power and influence, and indeed harden their grip over our freedoms, wealth, and environment.
There will of course be the symbolic appointments and moves to signify the new reign, but all of Bush's people will remain within their spheres of profit and influence.
The Democrats are no better than the Republicans, but perhaps in the changing of the personnel in key positions, there will be some relief from the raping of the taxpayer for the last 8 years. There will be no change from the actions, and philosophy of the Bush doctrine under McCain, but indeed he will be emboldened by the voter "Mandate" and the policies will be viewed as just, and carried even further and have more government micro-managing of our personal lives.
McCain has already pledged that the Bush socialist styled tax support of the rich will be his top priority, and so will the plutocratic support of giant corporations.
In short it is better to flush the toilet now and then, and just not change the toilet seat. Yes some of the sh*t will remain, but on the whole the stink and corruption has a harder time taking root.
Pod, quite to the point. If another republican takes over the circus only the puppets will change but none of the puppet masters.
In any democracy it is a good idea to keep the "powers that be" on their toes by exchanging them everey so often. GWB has been a totally incompetent leader, replacing him with another one from the same camp is just going to give them more time to spread the corruption.
Besides that I think Obama is a much better choice for a president than the cold war relict plus the religious nutcase from the cold backwaters of Alaska. His major positive points are that he has not been born with the silver spoon in his mouth and that he at least seems to care less about religion than about practical things. He may actually be the president who gives the USA their identity back.
chucknorriss why do you repeat the news here dont you know how to be creative ,i guess they let you use the computer at the old folks home .yes i know and you know i am a ratbastard
most people don't read the news ..... and i don't blame them ..... to get anything resembling a news story you have to go to alternative news sites..... news in the united states is carefully manipulated by a few special interests that work in concert for their own purposes..... did you know that their are only 4 major news networks in a country of ~275 million people ..or that t.hmmmm......or that the AP which handles 98% of all major foreign reporting was owned by rev sung young moon, a guy who is all about manipulation, control and exploitation of people.....
real news is either under reported, misrepresented or ignored.....today america has a slicked up version of pravda........
When it comes down to it, there is only a cigarette paper between the attitudes, policies and mindsets of the two main US political parties.
The nature of the country's people will forever ensure that its governments are generally right wing, insular and leaning towards monetarist economic policies.
Unfortunately, the model has crossed the Atlantic to the UK, where the parties are also almost identical.
You're correct about that AF, sometimes the clearest view is had from a distance.
It is government by extremists of varying but singular viewpoints, and in the US at least, unrestrained avarice backed by the Word of God.
Our nations will crumble financially and socially under the weight, and because these special interest groups hold unbending attitudes and objectives, they assure the rise of China, Russia, and India as the new world powers.
Extremists are always wrong, and after the damage is done, nowhere to be found.
The biggest problem of the USA is that they are geographically rather isolated. This leads to a limited view of the world. Canada to the north, Mexico to the shouth plus a lot of water.
They think Canada is just like another state of the USA (quite wrong, but how would they know if they never travelled there?), Mexico does not count (wrong too...).
So everything in the world has to work like in Hackensack...
