Canuck: I took your whole 'proxy ballot' spiel to mean you were voting in the US elections, which was why I was confused. Still am actually, you talking about the US election or otherwise?
Don't really know where the whole free speech thing came in, or why I wouldn't be aware of it. Explain?
I take it upon myself to dedicate this clip to Stream-O, Racist, Helldiver (otherwise known as Streamlined Racist Helldivers Inc.) and Stream-O's Posse.
C-
Do you have a point? I am not a Republican. Some of their hands are dirty, too...but, not like the annointed one's. Foida more...are you suggesting ACORN's support is equally for Republicans as for Democrats?
I wuz all wrong about Obama and ACORN!! I actually came across a clip that's the Smoking Gun for Stream-O and Helldiver! It even shows him ADDRESSING an ACORN rally, as a keynote speaker!!!:
Didn't answer my question.
One comment from a rally is not being in bed with them. Again, for you: I am not in the least bit happy about McCain as nominee. He is simply the lesser of two evils.
So, evertime you point out a shortcoming of his, it in no way affects me. I do not support McCain. However, I do enjoy pointing out your inabilities and weaknesses when it comes to critical thinking, analysis, logic and literacy.
Like the nightly news shows, this site now has an exclusive lavishly funded Fact Check Unit set up at great expense (a colorful graphic with the words "FACT CHECK ALERT!") in a lame attempt to pass off our transparent political bias as some sort of scientific exercise.
Our accredited credentialed licensed expert Fact Checkers from the University of Factology in the Czech Republic are standing by to rigorously Fact Check the candidate's claims. We check facts so you don't have to. All you have to do is sign up to our Fact-Check-Me-Now! Service, and we'll send you a daily Fact Check on your Facts Machine, which costs only $79.95 from Radio Shack (sorry, no checks).
Um... you do realize Obama is running in the US? ... not canada? therefore, well I hate to break it to you but no one gives a fuck what canadians love... except canadians...
Ares, maybe this is really reverse logic? usashame wisely knows that by telling us not to vote for McCain, we'll be so outraged by a foreigner telling us Americans how to vote, that we'll all vote for McCain, thus ensuring Obama's defeat! Thank you usashame, for your wise public service announcement in America's time of need!
Canadians don't care who wins as long as they obey the NAFTA agreement better than your country did the wheat , lumber, copper ,iron agreements.
What you don't know ALL the eastern seaboards electricity comes from Canada.
Switched off new york , Philly ,Boston to name a few cities would become war zones.
So show some respect to us Canadians and our valid opinions , we hold the switch and your water can be turned off too. LOL
Lets not get into that now, I think if anyone cared that much all of canada could turn into a war zone. I got nothing against canada or canadians. Im just sayin noone gives a fuck about some leftists opinions on US politics...
Given a few more republican presidents of the type you have now I would not think this impossible. Especially when you extrapolate the current economical troubles going unchecked a "Mad Max" scenario is not too unlikely.
I believe Iceland wanted to join the EU, and was rebuffed. Not sure Canada would have a good shot. Canada might have more Muslims than Turkey, and the EU don't like Muslims!
Seriously though, what is Obama saying this week? Is he currently for or against Nafta? He's flip-flopped enough on this issue, that I've lost track of his current stand.
of course canada and the world support obama... who in their right mind wouldn't ....obama will be elected, and he will have a hideously difficult term ... i personally feel that the republican puppet masters take the long view, ....they want a black man driving when the bus goes off the cliff.
McCain is certainly not the best republican for the job. But which is worse Miter? Elect the liberal democrat, or the liberal republican? Obama drives America off a cliff at 100mph, McCain at only 50mph.
Are we better to punish the republican choice, so they don't pick another RINO in the future, assuming the damage to our nation is reversable later? Or are we better to elect McCain, and fight him for our 2nd ammendment rights and conservative ideals every step of the way?
Damn Helldiver, I'm so freaking confused now I don't know what to tell you! This whole deal about McCain and his gun stance, coupled with his co-sponsoring of (BCRA) of 2002, also known as "McCain-Feingold bill" (which takes a giant bite out out of the First Amendment), has me actually looking at Obama as a "lesser of two evils"! I mean how f-ed up is that, an NRA card carrying, gun carrying, military family, republican voting all my life, going to the dark side! LOL! The way I see it, Washington needs a colonic and Obama's got the big box of colon cleanse to do it! I've not decided yet for sure, but you see where I'm headed! (or where I'm pulling my head out of)
Miter, I don't know all the answers, only Canuck knows everything.
I do know our soldiers are overseas in two wars right now, and Iran and NK want nukes, and I don't want another Jimmy Carter in charge.
I do know our government is way too fucking big, and needs to be reformed and downsized. Maybe McCain will do something about it. :-(
I believe the economy will bounce back with either clown at the rudder. We don't need more government bail-outs to further jack up the debt.
I believe America needs to unite again, and neither clown can do that. Only the American people can do that. But I do think Obama may be less polarizing to Republicans, than any republican would be for democrats.
I worry about a democrat president, with a democrat controlled congress and senate, enacting so many new big government programs that America is permanently transformed down the road of government dependence.
But frankly, I think both McCain and Obama are pushing us this way. McCain is just too old to push as hard!
I don't think bigger government is a democrat versus republican question, it is more likely the question how many obligations does either of the guys have. The more obligations, the more well paid jobs need to be created to console the supporters. And in this regard McCain is likely to have more legacy than Obama.
Regarding wars: You should be more interested in getting a president who is able to deal with other nations without attacking them on the battle field.
Going to war with Iran or North Korea would be likely desasterous for the USA. First of all the troops are already stretched thind due to Iraq and Afghanistan. Second both nations don't just have a few people who are opposed to the USA. North Korea has a brain washed populace. Irans populace does hate the USA with good reason. So any occupation force would have absolutely no support in either of these countries.
Third and hitting home closest to your primary interests: Another war will totally bankrupt the USA. You are already spending too much of your GNP on warfare, add more and the financial crisis will look like a sneeze to a full fledged influeza epidemic.
Bug, your reasoning is sound, except for one thing... McCain is NOT trying to start a war with NK or Iran! We'll let you strong Europeans stop Iran from aquiring nukes... ya... sorta sounded better in my head.
What would you suggest doing about NK and Iran? Do you support them getting nukes? I assume you're rational enough to say no. (Don't prove me wrong.) So short of war, how do you stop them from getting nukes? Well your only option left is then diplomacy and sanctions, and frankly we both know neither are working very well. NK just blackmails us with diplomacy. Iran just bullshits us to give them more time, which diplomacy allows so well.
But I do agree with you that its not America's job alone to stop these crazy regimes, its just that so few others have the spine to stand up to them.
Both McCain or Obama will continue bribing NK. America cannot attack NK, without sacrificing Seoul. We should remove our troops from SK, both as a cost savings, but also so America can act against NK without implicating the south.
Iran will continue to flaunt diplomacy, pretending they only want nukes for peaceful energy. Peace and Love, that's what Iranians are all about. Who would put some military stick behind that diplomatic carrot? Obama or McCain? That doesn't mean McCain wants to attack and invade Iran, that means the only possible chance for diplomacy to work on Iran, is if there is a credible threat of military action. And the US would not invade Iran or NK, if anything, precision air attacks on nuclear sites only. The aim would not be regime change, only to deny them nuclear weapons research.
The USA are not even trying to talk with Iran and it is crucial that the US do, you are the ones who they really have a grudge on and you are the only ones who can put an end to this. On the negotiation table, not on the battle field. I told you before this is primarily a thing about respect, something the Iranians put much value on.
Obama offered to talk with Iran if he gets elected, McCain offers only a hard line against them. McCain will cause a war if he does what he announces.
North Korea needs to stay isolated as much as possible, they will collapse eventually. While this will be cruel to the people there it is less dangerous than attempting a military solution.
Withdraw from South Korea and you lose even more credibility in the world. One of the reasons why there are so few countries staying in line with you is that the USA has at least dual standards.
Canuck, the US does and should work with every repressive nation in the world to promote freedom, democracy, and fight terrorism. In the case of Saudi Arabia, working with them is far more effective then isolating or bombing them. The king of Saud is actually a fairly progressive guy by Saudi standards, and almost western in his thinking. But you can't change a culture so steeped in tradition overnight.
As for Iran, I'd go with the multi-nation approach as is sorta working with NK. It does two things. It makes Iran accountable to many nations, not just the US, so the rhetoric dies down some. And it lets Iran know that its not just the big bag US that is concerned and picking on them. The US should not directly talk to Iran, only as part of a larger group. This also prevents the US from acting unilaterally, which some of you don't seem to appreciate.
However, should military options become necessary, maybe an economic and military naval blockade might put enough pressure on them, short of war. But this could very well escalate into a war. It would be better for them if any such war was restricted to an air and naval battle, rather than the US picking off ground targets.
Iran will walk all over Obama. They'll first act all friendly to the changed more positive US leadership, maybe invite Obama over. But they'll keep developing nukes. Then after Obama has been their buddies, he'll discover one day they set off an atomic bomb. Then Obama will either get all tough and over react, or we'll all just live with a nuclear Iran.
With McCain in power, Iran will tread lightly. They'll keep milking diplomacy for time, but if McCain gives them an ultimatum, the Iranians will damn sure take it seriously. I'm not saying McCain will stop Iran from getting nukes, but he stands a much better chance than Obama.
I agree North Korea should remain isolated until the implode, and that was Bush's initial strategy. Two problems with this. First, NK's nuclear blackmail. If we keep them isolated, they keep building bombs. Second, SK doesn't want NK to implode. Bug, you must remember the economic hardship of West Germany unifying with much poorer East Germany? Well this would be painless compared to SK having to unify with NK. NK is completely broke, the people starving. Collapse of NK will be disastrous for all Koreans. The other option, that I think Bush is pushing now, would be for NK to open up, and adopt some free market reforms like China did. NK sees how prosperous China has become, and they see the commie leadership still firmly in control. I think this option could be less painful for all. After NK opens up and builds an economy, then unification looks less painful. Nobody wants to attack NK. Certainly not McCain.
"who was it that sang "Bomb-bomb-bomb....bomb-bomb Iran...."?? "
A guy with a sense of humor and a spine. Its good for Iran to be terrified. Iran was terrified in 2003, after we crushed Iraq in a month. Bush squandered a major opportunity by rebuffing Iran's attempted reproachment then.
Bush took out the only thing in the region that held Iran at bay: their mortal enemy...Saddam (a secularist, no less!). "Terrified"????
Man...they were OVER-JOYED!!!
Georgie-Boy pretty well handed over the entire Gulf Region to them! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN????
LOL!
The Iranians are Shiites.....the new-and-improved "soverign" government of Iraq are.....Shiite-dominated.
Uhhhh....is a pattern beginning to emerge here for ya??
Oh mah gawd.
(slaps forehead)
Plus....the Old Man's "jokes" can stay in his closet. Not everyone needs to hear that crap from a potential C-in-C (well....except for CERTAIN types.....)
Iran watched their mortal enemy Iraq, who they had fought to a stalement for 10 years, get taken out by the US in a month. Iran was petrified they were next. In 2003, they hardly realized the Shiites would end up in power, and Iranian influence could spread. Why else would Iran send out peace feelers, and offer to cooperate in the war on terror? Out of the goodness of their hearts?
Same with NK, they assumed they were on the short list. Frankly that probably encouraged both NK and Iran to develop nukes asap, to counter a US invasion.
Any why does D's fear and opinion make him an idiot gymyg? Because you like Obama and D doesn't, that makes him an idiot? Your intolerance is showing...
But what of yours surfer dude..... "22 M fuse", or myself, "I'm cutter", lets go with canadaman with, "nada man", how bout eddie3dfx, "die Fed X" and lets not forget gymyg, "gymyg" hmmm, guess some names need to be taken for face value!
How bout some of the smart guys here taking a crack at some other names here!
Is it true that you can still run for president even after lying about your associations with Odinga, Ayers, Wright, Rezko, Rashid Khalili, Al Mansour, and a whole host of other anti-americans and terrorists?
The same way you can lie about your associations with former convicted Watergate figures, seccessionist organizations and groups of other figures involved in ethics scandals, resulting in felony convictions for the ring leader (Keating 5).
Ummmm......if you mean "exonerated" as meaning REPRIMANDED for showing "poor judgement"....then yeah, sure, he was "exonerated". (rolls eyes here). I guess that "guilt-by-association" angle only applies towards Obama, huh? Shaddap.
And yeah, Sarah and The First Dude WERE part of a seccessionist party in Alaska....which, come to think of it....would make them fucking traitors....wouldn't it?
C-
With ALL the proof that they were not part of a secessionist group, you still argue. Your bigotry is firmly ensconced.
"Poor judgment"...that's all you got. Which politician hasn't? BHO...does he get "poor judgment" for his friendship with Ayers?...Wright? His support for ACORN? His VP pick?
I wuz all wrong about Obama and ACORN!! I actually came across a clip that's the Smoking Gun for Stream-O and Helldiver! It even shows him ADDRESSING an ACORN rally, as a keynote speaker!!!:
the rumor is America is in a deep trouble trying to fix the worlds problems ,it is costing you your futures and your children's too. I hope your next president does a better job for you.
It would be nice if some people here actually realized how OUR elections affect the world. All I see is a lot of "you don't live here so shut up". Almost every country in the world has a vested interest in our elections. Pick up a fucking history book from time to time. Maybe learn a little about political science before you make yourself look like an ass in front of the cool kids.
Stream, you should take into account that without the rest of the world the USA is fucked. And right now the general opinion about the USA is not exactly enthusiastic
No Stweem'O'Bullshit, you in particular are incapable of sensible rational consideration
You should just stay in on voting day. In any case you'll probably be unable to work the voting machine and we don't want you getting frustrated and beating some innocent, capable voter to death with your booble because things aren't going your way
Stream-Perhaps if your powers of reading comprehension were up to par you would understand exactly what I am saying. What you pointed out isn't even close, thanks for playing though.
