forget the moose, as of 8-6-07 1:58PM MT, this clips ends up with some cheesy commercial that has a "skip ad" button in the upper right corner. When you click on "skip ad" you get a lovely popup. I thought this type of low-class, opportunistically parasitic booby-trapping went out of style in 2006!

I have never seen a pop-up because I run Mepis Linux, booting off their LiveCD. Cost? Free (as in Freedom). Give it a try at Mepis.org where you can download the ISO, then burn the image to CD. If you don't want to download and burn, try Ubuntu.com - they mail you a free CD. It takes a little longer, because it is running from CD (not installed to HDD). If you like it, there is an "install" icon on the desktop. There are message boards full of people learning how to use Linux.
If you feel like The MS Man has a tight grip on all your grapes, Linux might just be the answer to making wine (wink to the tuxes). Or not.
Greatest thing about it: If you don't like it, just toss the CD, reboot and run your normal OS.

Yeah, you could go through all that trouble of downloading an ISO and burning a CD, or waiting for a free Ubuntu CD to be mailed to you, and then of course, having to boot from the LiveCD every time you want to visit Glumbert... OR you could just download Firefox, install the AdBlock Plus extension and never see an ad again!
Hey Red, good friend of mine was an engineer for 18 years. They unfortunately hit people and animals so much that many of them(including my friend) just can't take it anymore. They call it SBT (suicide by train)
I am not really sure, but it looked like a moose at first. When the train got closer to the beast it looked more strikingly like a Canadian woman. Could you clarify if that was a moose or a Canadian woman.
up here in Northern B.C. that kindda shiite happens WAY to often every winter... it's just eazier to for the moose to walk on the tracks.. untill a train comes through. And it aint like the moose are THAT feekin stupid that they don't know that a train could kill them, it's just quite hard to get off the track 'trew da snow eh.

I hate all this Moose vs. Train shit. Why can't we just get along? Maybe they could have talked it out, with the aid of a trained therapist. Mediation? At least the murderous train~persons could have said "Excuse Me" and the moose would have just let the train pass and then resumed his merry way. But NO! Humans. Argggh!
