A simple piece of lumber could have worked wonders. But these are Marines. The first guy should have sprawled out in the mud, and let everyone else use him as a human bridge.
The Chinese did that in Korea to get over barbed wire. Of course the first dude was usually dead.
there's an area down my road that has quiksand. you havent lived until you've spent 12 minutes trying to get out of quiksand and then jumping right back in.
