It was all about dwarves (the giveaway's in the title). They wanted about a dozen of the little fellas to dance about and throw rocks at cars, set fire to chickens and generally fuck about. You've maybe seen a clip of the movie on Glumbert.

Anyway, I was out of work and was prepared to take anything. In fact, I was desperate. So, a couple of weeks before the screen test, I cut off both my legs just below the knee, thinking that would impress Mr Hedgehog.
But wouldn't you know it! He didn't turn up because he was stuck up the fucking Amazon making some shit about a madman trying to build an opera house.

So I didn't get the part, and my legs hurt like hell for about two years after.
Talk about suffering for your art.
