to state the obvious, he did NOT go to prison for smoking pot.
he went to prison for the probation violation, which reverts back to the armed robbery, where he stuck a gun in a mans face.
he should have done time for that to begin with.
do I agree with the judges decision to give him life for this offense....absolutely not...
and this kind of thing happens every day to a lot unfortunate souls.
I smoke pot and love it, I also think that it is just plain silly that it is illegal. BUT..if I am on probation with the possibility of a life term I would definately NOT be smoking pot if there was a 0.00000000001% chance of me getting caught, especially 2 weeks after a huge break from the prosecutor. The whole priviledge and money part is old hat and will always be this way, we have to live with that. I feel for Mr. Brown but it is his own doing.......right out to the garage to burn one for Mr. Brown!!
I agree, Mr. Brown did violate his probation... BUT LIFE??? Especially when the opposite case the guy did Cocaine and got nothing.
What would have the sentences been if they were not on probation, but a first time offence for pot and for cocaine.
NOTE, Coke can get you life in Texas, 1st time. Being a rightwing god fearing(not the law) but god, and white you'll be OK. Twenty yrs ago if a white man married a black woman, and the police found out, the black woman could, and some did go to jail.
dunno if any1 like bob marley but theres this mad remix called mr. brown thought it would be fitting take a listen..........

So in conclusion, am I to believe that the judge is a liar due to the facts presented by the investigative reporting? We all know that Texas likes to execute people, but a life sentence because of pot smoking! WTF!
Sickening. I can't believe he was in jail for 16 years. I've never wanted to violently overthrow your pathetic excuse for a government worse in my life. Sickening.
the judge dean did not get reelected. How many more judges like this imbeciles are still sitting and passing judgements on the poor public? In Canada we do not vote or buy our judges. But the more $$$ u have the smaller the sentences.
I'm pretty sure it's illegal for me to say what I'd like to say regarding this judge, so I'll just say this: Legalize It!...and we wouldn't have these kinds of screwed up stories.
