That must be a very, very tame ferret, or the kitten would have suffered death or worse. A friend of mine keeps ferrets, and most animals up to the size of baby elephants wouldn't stand a chance with them.
I thought about that too, but this ferret seemed to have kind of a "baby" look about him, probably pretty young, and not yet reached his full potential as an accomplished fighter. It will be further inhibited if he is conditioned from an early age to co-habitate, and feel inferior to, an aggressive kitty. Eventually, the two of them will probably get along respectably enough.
