There is a big difference between social and socialist.
a - is about helping the weaker of the population for the good of the whole country (i.e. good schools so the next generation is smarter and does not need welfare). b - is fucking up the economy with the bad adaption of a theory of Karl Marx which was aiming at utopia probably for a different species than humans.
Political philosophy that is manifested by a large centralized government that asssumes the responsiblity and control of the nation's economy and private actions of its citizenry. (Usually maintained by military means and wealth control)
But, yours was pretty good.
Thank, Bug.
You would know.
Also, in keeping with your ongoing consistency, I noticed you didn't correct my definition. (By the way, illiterate one, I said a "political philosophy that is manifest by..." Then you went on to agree with me. I love you, Bug.)
Clearly, Marx's philosophy of socialism is as you stated.
As a vet, I can say that wars only get rid of our young people, and alot on inoccents.
I have a few friends working over there bldg police stations of all things, it pays $260,000 for 18 mos tax free. They work a 4hr day. So the Bush plan IS working.
i was wondering if any body out there has had a rotator cuff surgery if so how long before i'll be able to play golf again any advice appreciated except cidd
this side steps around real issues. Like the thousands who die every year in Ontario from air pollution related diseases, the ailing health care system, or the homeless of Toronto. This is only a tactic to appease ignorant soccer moms who live lives insulated from these problems.
As a child, falling down and skinning my knee would leave me crying, yet my mother's attempts to comfort me left me feeling richer than I had before the fall. On the other hand, efforts to make me "act like a man" only left me angry, and I predict the same outcome from the constant admonition to engage only in "positive thinking."
chuck, a co-worker had rotator cuff surgery, it (like all surgery) sucked, but wasn't too bad, like lwboy said, you gotta do the rehab and stick to it. You facing this surgery?
oh ya now i'm on a constant diet of painkillers i can't even lift 10 lbs straight out
my advice to anyone getting cortisone shots is to do it in moderation, something i've never been good at, over the course of apx 10 years i had about 9, the md speculates that the cortisone cystalized making the tendons loose elasticity.. then 1 benchpress even with less than 150lbs snapped the tendon and blew up the already damaged cuff... i played a round of golf with a surgeon who said you should not have more than 3 cort. shots in your life
Rotater Cuff means that golf is gone until you can stand on a mini-tramp on one leg while twisting (I hear ya!). Talk to your physiotherapist. You may be able to get a wii system and fake it for a while.
Chuck, 8-10 months for golf, unless your under 25yrs, than it's two weeks. And no spanking your monkey, unless your under 25, which means you're always spanking it.
actually it seems to me to reflect what apx 70% of america believes a. bush is an asshole b. the war was a mistake c, the middle class is being destroyed
In the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, taken Friday through Sunday, the proportion of those who said the additional troops are "making the situation better" rose to 31% from 22% a month ago.
weiner did you know rodney king got shot last month( he survived) hahahaha serves him right when the cops showed up he refused to cooperate something technicality in the ghetto code apparently
do you understand the concept of percentage if ~ 30% approve then ~70% disaprove which was my original statement..... and since you feel so strongly about it you would be a coward not to enlist in the u.s. military ASAP,,,, give me one good reason why you shouldn't,, aside from the fact that the girls softball team couldn't get along without you,, i seem to recall you were involved in coaching fieldhockey or softball
Good ones Chuck.
You are and remain illiterate.
I suggested the polls (plural) were rising. You cited one source. (Stamp of illiteracy #1). Then, when pressed, cited another source verifying my claim.
Tell the nurse not to inject cortizone into your head.
Stream, the trick about reading is to actually understand and comprehend what you are reading. You already did prove time and again that you lack these two functions.
Bug-much to your chagrin, I am back. I enjoy our back and forth, much like I enjoy putt-putt golf. Very much the same type of challenge.
Wishing you no ill will, little buddy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PpMdTmVMpo GLUMBERT! BLUMBERT! EVERYBODY GET GLUMBERT TO POST THIS VIDEO! THIS IS WHY THERE IS A SO CALLED "WAR" AGAINST SO CALLED "TERRORISTS"!
thanx jimmy thats apx what i'd been told i was hoping for a shorter time frame i have worked out almost daily for years until now i wonder if steroids (androgel)would shorten the recovery time
No one should be mandated to attend a particular government school. I may not want the brand of education the government has choosen to force feed my kids.
Unfortunately most can't afford private school so they have no choice. Give me a fucking voucher damn it!!!!!!
Specious argument in the video...it is simply a rationalizing of the opposition to the war, which spends far less that gubmnet entitlement programs.
There is certainly continued opposition to what we are doing in Iraq, however diminished in enthusiasm it currently is. (I notice the economy is much higher on the intensity list than the war is...the moral dudgeon achieved only months ago is all but forgotten.)
Must be election politics
Chuck--why the vitriol? (Look it up...good word)
No...I compared it to entitlement programs, not just SS. Still, spending less on the war.
Do you have an argument or just bile?
(we shouldn't be spending anything on the war in iraq) except for prosecuting those who got us there under false pretense when it came to defeating al queda sadam could have and should have been our best friend.......he liked killing them as much as we all do...... and i like to think of my attitude it as passionate not vitriolic but since you will never go near a combat zone the war will remain an abstract concept for you so i can see how you might be alarmed by my remarks
C'mon, knock it off. Calling someone is an idiot because their political views differ from your own is closed minded and immature. From what I've seen and read you guys are more intelligent than that.
If you want someone to change their views then CONVINCE them.
If you call me a "fucking retard" because I believe in something different than you I'm not going to suddenly change my mind. (Gee, I never realized I was a fucking retard.............YOU ARE RIGHT!!)
In short...........respect someones right to be wrong. We right wingers have been respecting the lefts right to be horribly wrong for decades!! :)
Thanks, Wdog.
Good points. Chuck may be too far along. He has conveniently forgotten (and now making things up) what has occurred over the last 30 years and more to the point, what happened between 9/11 and our attack on Bagdhad.
I am not really trying to change his mind. I am just exposing it. His anger and bile speaks for itself.
How about a video of what will happen if US leaves Iraq? Let's start with what happened after the Saigon pull=out in 1975... How many South Vietnamese were killed or sent to reducation camps? How many people suffered from Pol Pot's killing orgy? How many people suffered and still suffer in Burma?
One can easily extrapolate from South Vietnam to Iraq? How many Iraqis will die from the Al Qaeda swords? How many Iraqis will die in the war between Shia and Sunnis in Iraq and Lebanon? How many will die from the export of the Iranian revolution into Arabia and northern Africa? How many will die from the next Arab - Israeli war that will for sure errupt within 2-3 years after US cuts and runs...
The desire for more than is possible is the cause of greater human misery than any other. Therefore recognition of consequences is the beginning of wisdom - David Horowitz
he's a neocon pimp and as such deserves nothing but contempt for what him and his kind have done to this country.... and like you while very militant in his ideology lacked the courage to fight for his country during a time of conflict....he dodged the draft during viet nam
he is a phony he'll say anything for the right amount of money (i forget why won't you join the military???)
mike - You are piling up too much death at the US doorstep. Civil wars happen whether we are there or not.
We are not at fault in everything. People hate one another, because strongmen ally themselves with a particular segment and create political and ethical divides which they leverage into a power base. Then the killing begins, and the killing is not done personally by the dictator.
The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves, for willing to be manipulated into a us/them mindset. The mid east is no better or worse than the rest of the world, they just have ISLAM to keep the prejudiced mindset going.
The Fund for Independence in Journalism bias? Another conveniently omitted fact? A primary source of funding for these independent sources is none other than George Bush’s biggest fan, George Soros. I can’t imagine why the rightosphere concludes there is any bias here.
Thank you for serving.
What are you doing currently with the courage of your convictions? What does it say about your convictions to go fight a war that you are absolutely sure is immoral, unjust and killing innocents?
Joining the army didn't make you a man, Chuck. Living by the words you use does.
We all do our part, Chuck. You have clearly done yours. And out of sheer ignorance and arrogance, you assume that the I have not done mine or that I don't continue to do so. (No one ths far has accused you of being a thinker.)
Were I a younger man, I would enlist. Despite your barbs and cuts against what you think is my profession, my passion and life is my Creator and my country.
So, while I thank you for your service, I would encourage you NOT defecating on the shoulders of those whom you stand.
You didn't enlist THEN, because you didn't have the guts or conviction; you wouldn't enlist NOW because you STILL lack the guts and conviction (age is a moot point)....because it's much easier to cheer on other young men to go to their deaths, as long as they die for YOUR convictions.
Good one, Canuck.
Feeling big behind the computer. We know how you feel about convictions:
There is no right and wrong, so one can't be convicted to do anything.
(anyone reading along: According to Canuck, if you don't enlist in the army, you are a coward.)
George Bush is a very intelligent man, while digging a hole at his ranch in crawford we stoped for a min to do some coke and chit chat. Some of things as he said"he was gonna learn me on" are as followed.
In Lebanon , men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.
In Bahrain , a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is prohibited from looking directly at them during the examination. He may only see their reflection in a mirror.
Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers. The sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times.
The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
There are men in Guam whose full- time job is to travel the countryside
And deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time. The reason? Under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry.
In Hong Kong , a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband's illicit lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired.
Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool , England - but only in tropical fish stores.
In Cali , Colombia , a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her mother must be in the room to witness the act.
In Santa Cruz , Bolivia , it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time.
In Maryland , it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: Prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises

Me and Bush sure had one hell of a time, the coke was great the dirt was soft ,it was a great day for diggin..but I don't think I will be doing anymore diggin for a while cause like bush says..A mexican goes with a shovel like peanut butter goes with jelly...
There are men in Guam whose full- time job is to travel the countryside And deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time. The reason? Under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry.
Oh and with the facts, I'm a zoologist, I'd just like to say: Dolphin's don't have sex for pleasure, they're actually rapists. A bunch of males will follow a female and take it in turns to, er, have their way with her, one after the other after the other, because they all want to be the last one and therefore the babydaddy. Not too pleasurable, just competition. :) Further interesting facts include:
Some lizards lick their eyeballs to keep them moist
A blue whale's heart is the size of an average car, its tail the span of a small aircraft, and its major blood vessels are large enough for a grown man to swim through.
The Weta, a large cricket native to New Zealand, is able to go into suspended animation over the winter. So it doesn't seek shelter as it gets colder and even allows itself to freeze completely solid. In the spring, it thaws out and goes on its merry way as if nothing had happened at all.
Pharaoh Ramses enjoyed drinking coca cola - an inscription found in his tomb, when translated, was found to be almost identical to the recipe used today.
...Sorry if they bore people. There's plenty more where they came from though :)
billy b, I was snorkeling off "lovers key" in Fl, the water was kind of murky, very low vis and I started to be "blasted" by dolphins echo locating me under water, what a very weird sensation that was! They followed me all over the place, kinda creepy in a way, not as creepy as the 6 foot 'cuda that "escorted" my off his patch of reef!
the female dolphins were probably 'askin for it' marine biologist routinely refers to them as the "sluts of the sea" i've read about this kind of secular progressive male bashing in bill o'reilly's latest best seller .."loofah, falafell what's the fuckin difference"
I think the simulated wargames under Clinton were concentrated on a scenario of China attacking Taiwan. Tensions were very high and many thought China's invasion of the island was imminent.
They had the army to do it no doubt, but their Navy is tiny. If they ever get it built up everyone's in trouble.
Exactly the point. Chinas has not much in the way of an ability to "project" its power to attack any far away countries. Even Taiwan would be a problem, the rather few ships they have could be sunk by the Taiwanese before any landing force could reach the island.
So the major problem would be nuclear attacks, but there they are seriously outgunned by the USA, any nuclear attack on the USA would result in the end of China.
Though as far as their economy goes there are indications that growth is limited. They do run out of skilled labour as the majority of their populace still lives in primitive rural conditions and how much chance do you have to turn anyone into an engineer who saw his first car when he enthered high school?
Also their demographics is toppling. The much needed reduction of the population explosion is resulting in overaging of the populace. So what feeble social security they have is endangered to collapse when there are too few working people trying to pay for too many retired ones.
Environmental problems are mounting, less than 20% of the populace has access to uncontaminated water. So health problems are going to run up.
Resources are running out or becoming unavailable. China now is the major producer (and user) of rare earth elements with about 90% world production. But some of their mines are running out and some other have to reduce production due to their environmental load. The same is happening with other vital resources. Once this supply dwindles their domestic prices for them will go up resulting in an end to their dumping of products (right now some of the stuff they make is sold at a price lower than the worth of the raw materials on the world market).
My guess is that in a couple years from now (maybe 10 or so) China will be an example of short sighted exploitation for near term profit that results in long term losses.
Winpop-
Which ones are lies?
WMDs: used by Saddam and believed by the whole world to be under development during the 90's. Where were you? If he didn't have them at all and was not trying to develop them, why the duplicity? Why all the dancing with UNN inspectors? If a man, with his hand in his jacket pocket and pointing it toward you, says he has a gun, are you wrong in striking him?
The terrorsists have already been here. Your second point is 180 degrees backward.
stream. If a man pointed a gun at me and threatened me, I would react. But, if after the fact, I found that he had no gun in his pocket, but was just happy to see me, I would admit it.
See stream (of what?)...that's the point...admit you fucked up...Republican's don't do that. Conservatives never do that.
Course I know why. It would take up their whole damn day.
Winpop...please read my analogy.
I am asserting that it would NOT be wrong to defend yourself, even if you found out later that the threat was not all that real.
What is there to admit? So, far the Admin has said that they have not found any WMDs, BUT based on their intel at the time, they were sure they would find them. (To some extent, much of what they claim has been vindicated.)
WASHINGTON (AP) - A study by two nonprofit journalism organizations found that President Bush and top administration officials issued hundreds of false statements about the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the 2001 terrorist attacks. The study concluded that the statements "were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses." The study was posted Tuesday on the Web site of the Center for Public Integrity, which worked with the Fund for Independence in Journalism. White House spokesman Scott Stanzel did not comment on the merits of the study Tuesday night but reiterated the administration's position that the world community viewed Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, as a threat. "The actions taken in 2003 were based on the collective judgment of intelligence agencies around the world," Stanzel said. The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both. "It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al-Qaida," according to Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith of the Fund for Independence in Journalism staff members, writing an overview of the study. "In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003." Named in the study along with Bush were top officials of the administration during the period studied: Vice President Dick Cheney, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan.
Sorry Chuck, the organization creating the article has too much bias to be credible-
Nowhere in the entire dispatch does the AP tell us anything more about the two groups than that they are "nonprofit journalism organizations." In fact, the Center for Public Integrity is a liberal-left group that has taken money from George Soros, who has compared contemporary America to Nazi Germany. The Fund for Independence in Journalism seems to be but a spinoff; its Web site says its "primary purpose is providing legal defense and endowment support" for the center.
Non profit journalism comes in many forms. Their name sounds innocuous, however, their true goal is suspect and definitely biased.
The Fund for Independence in Journalism bias? Another conveniently omitted fact? A primary source of funding for these independent sources is none other than George Bush’s biggest fan, George Soros. I can’t imagine why the rightosphere concludes there is any bias here.
Thank you, Chuck
You made more points about yourself in citing this source.
Anyone care to venture why this story has no real legs?
A. War in Iraq is less an issue due to the surge's ongoing successes.
B. There never really was a deeply emotional or highly motivated opposition to our presence there, in terms of majority.
C. Most people, contrary to leftist/libs, are not stupid and can remember what lead up to our decisions to go into Ieaq.
D. All of the above
stream you are incorrect once again A. iraq and afghanistan are a continuing problem (more us soldiers were killed in 2007 than any other year), but it has been eclipsed by a looming economic meltdown B. the opposition to our being there is actually highly motivated and there are apx 4000 dead soldiers to prove it C. it turns out that the reasons given for going into iraq were false and circumstantial evidence indicates the president and his posse knew it D. if the congress had any balls they would initiate impeachment hearings immediately
by the way it seems that you imply that i am a Leftist/Lib if so you are wrong on that also
p.s. the 935 false statements referred to in the article are a matter of public record......connect the dots come to your own conclusion, i have.
A. Yes...continuing problem. I am sorry, Chuck, we can't microwave or dowload a solution. If you have any ideas, I am sure the dolts (or, are they evil geniuses...I never know with you all.) would like to hear them. But tuckin' tail and runnin' ain't part of it.
B. How does 4000 dead prove it? The highly motivated are the ones who have way too much time on their hands. Give to the USO, give to TreatsforTroops, write a letter. But, if pecking away at the keyboard is the height of your outrage, then thank you for exiting the military.
C. No, it does not turn out that way. Find a few other sources than MoveOn. We are now three generations into a class of people who can only be classified as "relaxocrats". These peaceniks existed prior to WW1 but the American middle class that came to harbor them was too small to raise a signifcant stink. Their children have nothing better to do than fold their arms in righteous indignation and pitch public hissy fits over not being a part of the ruling class. (You know them a s the former Communist party.) Yes, David Horowitz used to be among them.
D. On what grounds? Read your Constitution that you took up arms to defend.
If you are not a LeftyLib, you lick the boots of those who are.
A matter of public record. Can I find that with your birth certificate?
Please remember the years that brought us here, Chuck.
If all the claims of dishonesty and corruption were true, look at ALL those who would have to be knowing accomplices.
Further, TO WHAT END? What have we gained? What has W gained?
You have a lot to demonstrate, Chuck and reason is not on your side.
It is a matter of public record that streamlined lets other people think for him. We have found that before in discussions where he did show that he lacks understanding and replaces it by regurgitating crackpot neocon and/or religious fanatic bullshit.
Instead of asking him to enlist and volunteer for service in Iraq we should bundle him up and drop him in some district of Baghdad with a label that says: "Here is one of the assholes who wanted the US invasion of your country".
Good evening, Bug.
And greetings to all my fellow accidents of nature.
I would direct you all to the Scott Pelley interview of George Piro, FBI interrogator of Saddam. (60 Minutes)
Look, most Americans - of both parties - have no longer any hope vested in the federal govenrment, to pragmatically address today’s domestic problems. We can blame the opposing party... and indeed, I do! Still, the fact is that paralyzed rigor mortis has set in. Even if the democrats win by a landslide, come November, the rump GOP will set about making life a living hell for the next President and Congressional leadership. Culture War ensures that no large endeavor can be undertaken, without it becoming a matter for bilious hatred, suspicion and total blockage
I lost Chuck...sigh
Cidd...good points. However, the current Republicans are internal weinies (no offense WDog) in that they are now part of the managerial class and will cave to popularity. Worse, the current Demsocrats are external weinies and will have us cave to the world outside our boundaries. (Those are, of course, generalities with exceptions.)
Chcuk, streamy definitely has an opinion, though we are not exactly sure where he got it since he is unable to process information he can not have formed it himself.
Maybe there would be a good use for Streamy. We could put him into a "Democracy Museum" as an example for one of the biggest threats to democracy: The totally uncritical citizen who takes everything the government tells him as granted.
You are so right Chuck. We are devo (de-evolution). Current stats state that a college educated, professional couple will have 1.1 children. Counter that with the uneducated, trailer trash type having 4.4 (by the time they are 25), and you have a general dumbing down of the population. The trailer trash have grand kids before the educated couple have a second kid. Scary.
Exactly the problem, especially since intelligence does not necessarily breed true. If you counter that with a good school system you can pull up the average level since you give bright people from the lower class a chance. But I currently see that only in the emerging countries, most of the industrialized countries have started to go down the drain.
Being ganged up on by Chuck and Bug is very similar to being surrounded by an all-day Stooges marathon. Thanks, guys.
I notice neither of you counter any of my arguments. No surprise.
Please see the Assoc. Press article (George Piro, FBI interrogator) or the 60 Minutes piece about Saddam. I don't expect either of you to change your mind.
Bug doesn't change his mind since others have made it up for him. Right, Bug?
stupid, you have no arguments, there is nothing to counter. As usual you drag up some crackpots that have the same mental problems as you do. You are just great about selective perception.
The kind of society you are craving for did exist in Germany 1936-1945 and does now in North Korea.
Bug...please show me any instance of my support for totalitarian rule. The only people I see making formal, legal and judicial efforts at curtailing freedom are on your side of the political spectrum, currently. That is not to suggest my side would not have its elements.
But, as has been commonplace in your tracts, namecalling with nothing to back it up does nothing to further your arguments.
That is exactly your problem: You don't see anything.
GWB and his bunch of criminals have destroyed so many basic rights and pissed on the constitution, it is impossible to not notice that unless you are as imbecile as you constantly demonstrate.
bug what is it that you are trying to do? the majority of people know what went down in iraq and resent it. you don't have to convince anybody and you wont convince him. see:http://www.motherjones.com/bush_war_timeline/
to assume that because sadam lied bush is absolved from responsibility for what has been called the worst foreign policy blunder in the nations history is ridiculous. we know he lied he always lied so what. look at the preponderance of evidence...to say that everybody thought he had WMD is not true the UN would have voted against the resolution to go to war..anyhow what you are trying to do is pointless
for the record let's just take a look at steemz belief system 1. the war was just 2. evolution is bullshit 3. the earth is apx 6000 years old 4. fundamental christianity and a literal interpretation of the bible are solution to the worlds problems 5. stem cell research is evil 6. george bush is good 7. the neocon search and destroy middle east foreign policy ideology is a requirement for americas success
what is the point in engaging in debate with someone like this i wont... as you said he's fukin nutz
One at a time...one at a time.
Never said I didn't name call; just that I backed it up.
Canuck is a coward: proven
Canuck is a hypocrit: proven
Canuck is a liar: proven
These are not opinions. Using his own words, repeatedly, to justify my claims.
Chuck: feel free to disengage. So far you have offered nothing in the form of counterarguments. Just generalizations and out of context summaries. (You did learn from the master, though.) When you wish to exercise your noggin and take up a point, go for it. BTW-using Latin doesn't make you smart. But, boy all those awesome swear words sure give that appearance.
Bug: You have offered nothing either. Still revelling in what you think were your glory days on the "universe" thread. (May wish to stick to that topic where, even if you deny the weaknesses in your arguments, at least you have a solid knowledge of the topic.)
weiner, if this were a debate club he would have been disqualified long ago. We have been over the very same topic with him before. Everybody is tired of this moron, this is why nobody is debating him. He has lost some time ago and is not getting a consolation round.
As chuck pointed out it is obvious to anyone who can read and think that streamy is wrong, actually out of this world with his "arguments".
Thanks, WDog
Sometimes getting in the sandbox is fun...other times tedious.
(Gosh I can be moody.)
These guys tend to think that just because we are on a new thread and that they massaged each others backs on previous posts that all is forgotten.
It is not.
Watch how all this develops. Canuck has only had one argument that he repeatedly delivers and self-congratulates when he does: Polls showing GWB in low approvals. (As if I am a big GWB fan and as if that proves anything.)
Bug will simply name call and refer viewers to a thread that is 6-7 months old where he and I disagreed and he is in a majority position on this website. None of which proves anything.
But, like I said, the sandbox is fun...when it's fun.
Just about a month old, same topic as here. And another guy with psychological problems like you Streamy.
All the arguments are there and are still valid, I am not going to repeat myself.
You are unable to debate, so it does not make sense to try it. Actually the only thing you can do is presenting some crackpot stuff from neocons and religious maniacs as your own ideas. But as soon as anyone tries to discuss with you all you can do is name dropping, vaguely pointing to some "convincing" information, and act patronizing about the poor stupid people who just need a little help to understand why it is right that GWB caused the death of so many people, the earth is flat, taking a break from the constitution is fine, etc.
Usually when one follows your links or hints the result is some dubious website like that creationist thing or some neocon propaganda. Even more interesting when probing deeper it turns out that many times you did not even read the information, you did read only the abstract, at most.
To sum it up I think that you are just full of hot air and you accept anything that supports your twisted view of the world without asking for the credibility of the source. You are not reachable for reason and facts. So I will resort to showing anyone who does not know you what a nutcase you are.
Bug- you are, sadly, becoming what you accuse me of: a follower. There have been times that you can be erudite and explain yourself; then there are others where the obvious hits you right in the face and you disregard it because it doesn't suit your worldview.
I agree...it would be best for you not to bring up old arguments that have been dispelled and ruined. Thank you for citing that post from months ago. (Funny, when I read what you wrote, you don't quite come off like you suppose you do.)
I would caution this: If you say something now and I disagree now, that doesn't make it true later. You have proven nothing except that a few here agree with you.
Heck, I mught have a few that agree with me...but, that doesn't make me correct.
But, feel free to keep responding with non-responses.
so...moving along inthe spirit of superbowl sunday let's look at the impeachable offenses of vice president dick cheney
"On July 22, 2005, Special Forces Colonel Patrick Lang said before a congressional committee that, as a result of the exposure of Valerie Plame, our ability to know when terrorists would “carry 10-pound bags of explosive in subway stations” would “go right down the drain.” The media never reported this. Instead it was busy chasing the White House spin that Plame was not a covert agent. It was crucial to the White House that Plame’s job description be fogged up. Even on the right, there was speculation that this was one scandal from which the Bush administration would not recover.
Playing hardball with critics like Joe Wilson, Plame’s husband, was one thing. Exposing an undercover informant network was another. Although many details about Plame’s career are still classified, we know her job consisted mainly of detecting the movement of weapons of mass destruction. If she was only a bureaucrat, why would a Special Forces Colonel, Middle East specialist, and professor of Arabic like Lang sit before a committee and say that Plame’s unmasking was an “assault” on our ability to prevent terrorist attack?
So how about a replay of that scrimmage? After all, it only involves our safety from attack, according to Colonel Lang. The focus in the Plame Affair was always political payback to Wilson and all the Nigerian yellowcake stuff. So what? This is Washington. Payback is everything. The focus was never how, within hours of her exposure, every hostile intelligence service in the world had run Plame’s name through its databases. That would include Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, which we know is shot through with Al Qaeda sympathizers.
The snap! Plame betrayed by someone in Cheney’s office, maybe on orders from Cheney, as payback to Wilson for exposing a lie. Fumble: Plame’s job turns out to be weapons of mass destruction. Spread the word that Wilson gave John Kerry a campaign donation, and that Plame had an office at CIA headquarters. She was a paper pusher! At all costs make people forget she spent nearly 30 years as the most secret kind of operative, a non-official cover (NOC), which basically means the government can deny your existence if you are killed.
Recovery. That was very, very close.
The White House spin machine is good at seizing on something which, in logic, is called “irrelevant.” Like a campaign donation to Kerry, and building it into something that has nothing to do with the price of eggs in China. Why are we talking about John Kerry? Did Plame have undercover networks, yes or no?
Special Prosecutor Pat Fitzgerald referred to “national security” no less than three times in his first press conference on Plame. Inexplicably, he settled on the lower charge of violation of the Intelligence Identity Act, rather than the higher charge of treason.
Colonel Lang spoke of a violation of “trust” which spread like a “shockwave” among the foreigners who had worked with Plame. When she was exposed, they were exposed too. The message to those who would help us against our enemies was: the Americans cannot be trusted to protect their informants. How can you help people like these?
Bush’s pardon of Libby sent the bigger message: partisan politics trumps everything for Americans. It even trumps their own safety. The Founders pondered outlawing political parties. They feared that parties could blind people to the difference between what’s good for the party, and what’s good for the country.
The pardon of Libby means old Scooter has no incentive to talk about really happened, to save his own rear end.
Now that powerful Florida congressman Robert Wexler has called for impeachment hearings to begin “immediately” against Cheney, let’s hope people start to see the difference between party and country. And that Cheney’s chickens have come home to roost. By its inaction on impeachment, Congress is rapidly becoming complicit in the crimes of Dick Cheney.
I hope you don't expect this to have any overt consequences?
The whole bunch of crooks will get away with that. The best you can hope for is that the Democrat party will use some details for behind-the-curtains pressure.
There's a couple of reasons the Plame thing has NO LEGS...Joe Wilson lied, a lot...Valerie Plame's covertness wasn't very. (Covert types don't do photo shoots, etc for the cover of Vanity Fair)...and, the CIA is still managed by Clinto hold-overs (One of my big reasons for wanting to give GWB a smack in the face) who don't want their systematics inside the CIA overturned.
Oh yeah...and all the facts that have since come out don't support the central claim that she was outed by the Bushies. Just ask Richard Armitage.
weak-streamline most people thoughts words and actions are constrained by truth, logic, and sanity; sadly you do not fall into this group. you are a person with a personality disorder who undoubtedly receives more attention on this site than you ever would in real life. everyday normal people have an inherent aversion to a person who displays the arrogant tendencies of the sociopath...probably one of the traits that has made us a successful species..
i have no doubt the world finds you as reveolting as we do....
oh ya i forgot, thats to be expected, cause the real world rejects men of god like you, huh
p.s your disorder is probably chemical in origin and nature and could be easily diagnosed and treated
Oh what great open land is available to the mind free of reason, logic, facts, and sanity!
The most used retorts of Streamy (not in any particular order): Google more! I did not say that! Look here, Duke Munchhausen wrote about it! This has been proven wrong! (not bringing up evidence of course) You are illiterate!
And most of the time he tries to change the course of the argument instead of giving straight answers.
I am so glad to be back, Wdog.
It has long been personal. Libs are self-absorbed. (Note: Not believing in a power greater than the self necessarily puts the self at the center of the universe; hence, the anger towards anyone who does not agree that said liberal is in fact, the center.)
Bug...your summary is pretty accurate. I appreciate it. Seriously.
When referncing Google as the source of knowledge for a few here, I need only mine these threads, very superficially, to find my proof.
Never, and baby, I mean never have I claimed to have not said something and then shown to have said it.
On many occasions, I have shown evidence that certain assertions have been debunked/disproven. You can go back and look yourself.
Odd that you would mention illiteracy...seems like everytime I use it as an argument, i am citing what you (and others) wrote, misread or omitted.
Again, thank you for all of that.
Bug, ironically, you are sometimes my best arguments.
weiner i dont know i'm not a liberal why do the right wing extremists presume everybody who disagree's with them are liberals.... look of the site makes you uncomfortable leave, or stay i dont give a shit
...ahhh ,,people can you feel it .... freedom of expression , it's a beautiful thing enjoy it while it's still available
I was asking the question because someone asked me and several others to stop doing "something". I did not know what that "something" was so I sought clarification.
Does it make sense now, or should I speak more slowly?
Chuck-as I've stated before, I'm not a right wing extremist. Far from it. I"m a libertarian that believes in minimal government involvement in my life and maximum freedom of the individual so long as it doesn't infringe on the freedoms of others.
To that extent I'm harshly critical of the Bush Admin's wire tapping freedom stealing regime.
Globally, I prefer a more isolationist stance in the sense that I want the US out of other countries business. I could care less what the rest of world is doing. The US has NO obligations to be the worlds police force or moral compass. I don't fucking care. I don't subscribe to the notion that we should all try to make the world a "better place" and sit around the campfire singing cumbaya.
If someone attacks the US it's a different story. Destroy them.
And I don't hand wring, I'm just sick of watching 4-5 self righteous windbags gang up on anyone who disagrees with their views. Get over yourselves. Whether you believe it or not most people DO NOT agree with you. GW's polls have nothing to do with it.
If you have an argument to make, make it. Leave the hysteria out of it, it sounds like a middle school in here.
billboat- I hitch my wagon to no one elses. I believe in what I believe. When I stated that stream had won the debate it was based on the facts I saw presented and unable to be refuted except by emotion.
weinerdog - IMHO The discussions here fall into two categories:
A) Those who make comments of fact or belief for the intent of widening THEIR world view from the responses, and if given enough information, they may or may not change view on the subject.
B) Those who make comments of belief with the intent of widening YOUR world view, and if you don't accept their view, then you are ignorant, woefully misinformed, or do not believe in the correct God.
..OK maybe a third category:
C) Some people like to argue because they like the gamesmanship of the arguments.
In truth it is pointless to argue with the B group, for their beliefs are based on faith and their world view is so tightly bound to faith that they are incapable of change.
And we all know by now that the Liberal and Conservative LABELS are nonsense, and are just used by those who wish to divide and conquer the masses. When will we all start thinking of each other as individuals and fellow citizens and unite, and revel in our differences to defeat the dividers, and purveyors of hate.
Until we can accept our differences and move forward as one people with a common interest of the general welfare of all, we will be under the feet of the few powerful men who are only concerned with their self interests.
I'm standing with you on your above statements...except for the "self righteous windbags" part, those comments and replies are quite enlightening, educational, entertaining and thought provoking to say the least!
I do believe everyone has their own version of reality, based upon their own life's experience's (could be why no one will EVER change their position) and therefore the constant hammering, badgering, disrespect, name calling etc....is, well, kind of pointless and annoying! Don't get me wrong here, if some shmoe wants to push their own agenda on me, counter to what I believe (in my version of reality) they will get that type of response....both barrels so to speak! I'm not saying everyone kiss and make up either, that would suck too!
To each their own.......it's what makes glumbert an "addiction"! I don't know much about this streamlined person, haven't read his comments of the past, I see some pretty darn funny/witty stuff from him lately....I'll say this, things have fired up since he "returned"! Maybe I should go back a read some comments, but lately I've had a real "I don't give a shit anymore" attitude so screw that. I have other bigger "stuff" on my plate!
I'm thinking all you guys here are pretty damn intelligent, in your own ways, on different subjects, from different perspectives and different countries, shit I can't wait to get back from work and see what's been said!
podman, miter- I appreciate your replies. Both were thoughtfull, intelligent, and civil.
Now, FUCK OFF! (eh, just kidding) Seriously though...............well said and appreciated.
Chuck- come back to the light man.............you can't hate me forever.............I'm just a cute little weiner dog...............can't you see my big eyes blinking at you....................
(Did you re-read your earlier post? If no one knew you were addressing me it would sound really, really weird...........like you were having an argument with your junk..................)
