Makes one wonder where it can be presented in safety, and where such a presentation might be risky at best, and grounds for unspeakable penalties at worst.
Those sharing this site are among the lucky able to express their thoughts and all sorts of things that might not quite qualify as thoughts...all in safety.
Nice to be reminded of something precious that I frankly take quite for granted all the time.
Hopes and prayers for the Burma effort.....and for all others suffering under the heel of oppression.
if for nothing else, it was very impressive artistically...
I mean it was seriously brilliant...great transitions, good visualizations... It was truly great...after 1 minute of film I'm usually out of transition ideas and just resort to a fade out...
This is such a great film, with an awesome message...props
ah... I was right with them until they said "you have the right to marry and have a family". I disagree. I think that's one of the root causes of stupid people and over population.... the fact that people think that every one has the right to marry and have kids.
Boring. I masturbate to old French movies and everyone in the room just marvels at the size of my dong. When I cum it spurts over all the walls, but not necessarily in a French accent.
another complaint... the "right to work" and a "fair salary". I agree... but not on the socialist terms that a lot of people think. Everyone can work as hard as they want at whatever they want. However, people should be paid what the market will bear based upon skill set and contribution, not seniority or strength of union.
Did you watch the debate last night? Obama praised McCain for creating and passing the anti-torture law. Boy that must be really upsetting for you? I mean you berated me in how many posts claiming McCain supported torture and voted against the anti-torture law,
http://www.glumbert.com/media/mccainrage yet your hero the Obamasiah himself completely dispelled your whole arguement, made you sound like an ignorant fool! That must really sting for you... I feel for you man!
Well either that, or Obama is wrong... So which is it, was Obama wrong, or you?
What did I acknowledge to you earlier? I DID acknowledge that McCain went on the reocrd as against torture.....but that he BACKPEDDLED, and voted against a BAN on it. And why he do that? Because Georgie-Boy said to him, "Change your vote, you old fart, or else I'll politcally smear your ass, come the election." Of course, McSame, having been the object of Georgie-Boys' smears in the past ("you fathered an illegitimate black child!"), he knew full-well he didn't have the belly for that kind of crap all over again.....so instead of being a MANLY-MAN and sticking to his PRINCIPLES....he rolled over, and became the good political whore (like the Palin Whore) that he can be, and the rest is history.
And as for Obama? Listen again: he gave McCain credit for opposing the Torture Bill INITIALLY. That's all. That's it. beyond that, he COULD have went to McCain's level, and brought it up....but why bother? The elections in the bag, as it is. And further, as the Supreme Court has already ruled that "enemy combatants" DO have the right to due process and are NOT to be tortured (I already told you THAT...remember?), I'd say that this all about gives YOU the lattitude to shut your fucking face....right?
Got all that, Eichmann? Or are you still reading your torture manuals?
Disgrace.
Both YOU AND the religious zealot.
But in a little over two weeks....you and your ilk will be ancient history.
People who don't like this video are probably sadastic evil people or otherwise those who have never had their civil rights violated previously. Until you've experienced it then you will never truly understand.
I think I've got a pretty solid grasp of what constitutes "duty", and even "honor" and I'll even go one step further....."justice". Many times I've said how much I abhor the dereliction of the principles of those traits.
Especially from those who wore the (a) uniform at one point-or-other.
I'd even go so far as to say my "moral foundation" which does not have a 2,000 year-old book as necessary to its foundation....is equal to, if not superior.....to yours.
"Doodie"???
C'mon....you, of ALL people, can surely do better than THAT.
C-minus: I thought a poo-poo joke was in order since I am dealing with potty-mouthed little boys.
What is your foundation, C? I have rested mine on the Almighty. The Creator of all thngs. There can be no greater foundation. Only hubris borne of ignorance gets you where you are.
It is undeniable that without a fixed morality, judgments on moral grounds are subjective... period.
That is why you have no problem with lying so long as it serves your end. (That was not a doo-doo joke.)

What CRAP! Only the UN could think that drafting a Declaration of Human Rights would cause human rights. Many of these rights came from the philosophy of liberty that gave birth to the US Constitution. These rights had to be fought for, killed for, died for. To just declare human rights does nothing. What about the rights of people in China, Iran, most of Africa. These rights need to be won by force, they will never be handed over by the governements in power now.
There are many who would agree with you. And then there are a number who would disagree (Ha Ha Hmm canuck1963) I personally agree. Take a hard look at Zimbabwe, did anybody believe for one minute that Robert Mugabe was going to share power. Sure, and Sadam was just about to hold free elections and put a stop to his boys raping and pillaging. Having said that, the first time we put a soldier on the ground in support of the people like Canuck 1963 will come out of the wood work screaming wrong war, wrong place, wrong time.
Although I would love to see how obama would vote on this one.
Zimbabwe doesn't have enough resources to matter, hence you see no interference there (despite the fact that it would probably be welcomed by the populace)
Iraq does have resources and is strategically placed hence you see the illegal invasion. Saddam may well have been a cunt, just like Mugabe is, but the difference was Saddam had shit the US adminstration wanted.
Mugabe doesn't.
Burma doesn't either.
Oh yeah...it's also massively sponsored by China too.
May have some bearing dontcha think?
How would McCain vote given he has already been a guest of theirs by proxy?
Wait wait, so because it has resources and is strategically placed that makes it wrong to bring rights to iraqis? I just love how people complain about rights and shit on one hand but then when the US brings rights to a place they just bitch and moan about other shit. Some people just like to complain i guess...
Bringing democracy to Iraq was a stated reason, among many. (There was great noise baout that reason, too, because GWB had stated the opposite while he campaigned.)
When C-minus asks for a single reason for going into Iraq, he is knowingly constructing a falsely premised question.
I live across the straight from Cuba. This does not express the rights of us on either side; we can only dream. I want to go across the straight, but my Big Brother won't allow it, because I'm a full blooded 'merkin. Now if I was 'nadian, I could sail my boat from Flo-duh for a day and be in Cuba, and then sail the rest of the Caribbean or perhaps the Yucatan (and either way, So'merica), but alas, I am a prisoner of fear and persecution. Now, here is a way I can still live my dreams: if I had a 'nadian sponsor...you know, someone I could give my money to so he could arrange things legally, I could anchor freely and let the wind drive my dreams. Now, without another boat that 'nadian would have to be on mine, but I have no 'nadians. Oh, wait...perhaps...
Crap, ne'er mind...any 'nadians of acquaintance wouldn't make it to Cuba short of bait along the way, and bloated remains on Miami shores...sorry mates. I'll settle for fear and persecution against righteous indignance against nature's blow. You have choose crew from their luff in fair winds, for it can get ugly out there, so why start out ugly?
On the other hand, 'nuck...it wouldn't be boring (with the unfortunate circumstance we were lost at sea in the same boat). Good to see you. I don't get out often but look forward to your head bashing against the world of Glumbert. Where do we go for real time engagement? I'll stop off at this floor in a few minutes to see if the ferns have grown.
Merkin
You should talk to canucky about a potential bride. Some time back I read someones entry that he himself had picked up a mail order American bride (poor woman). So I think he owes us one.
Although, being from the southern midwest, she DOES get IRATE when I refer to her as "Yankee". I tried my best to explain that it was no offence intended, and that Y'ALL were "Yankess" from where I sit up here.
Canuck, while you're maybe thinking Yankee is the same thing as American (US citizen), here in America, Yankee typically means only northerners. From our civil war days, the Union soldiers were Yankees, Southerners were confederates. So it sounds like your wife grew up not appreciating the Yankee label, and preferred the southerner or confederate label.
Once they started positing positive rights, I knew this whole thing was a sham.
This almost seems like psuedo-kantian duty ethics. People owe you things like nationality, protection, freedom to traverse their property... Yeah, fuck the UN and their pettily backed up ethical system. Their only intellectual justification for these "universal rights" is their task force.
