I agree with hardhatdiver, being a retired Navy guy it reminds me of the great times I had with my fellow crew members, keep it safe guys. i served from 1973-1993. Fair winds.
Crackin' me up! Now I'll have to tell my sister that the secret is out . . . we know what they're really up to on those 8 month deployments! Glad they're having SOME fun.
I am proud to say I was a member of VAW-116 during the Viet Nam war. I see they're still the finest squadron in the Navy! Once a Sun King, always a Sun King.
These people are amazing: brave, selfless, and artistically inclined. In all seriousness, God protect them. Thank you soldiers, past, present, and future. Forever in my prayers...
Dear thatpothead and skagit69er, I'm not exactly sure on your stand with this video. I am a retired squirt w/14 years sea time. I did most of that on small boys and all except one was FDNF. I respect fellow shipmates for pulling this together, did you notice the different ranks who contributed to this ? This shows a unity that most civies will never imagine, let alone experience. I applaud these squids for their endeavor, 6-9 month deployments, with 12-18 hour workdays, can be very hard. I remember when I did not sleep for 5 days, when I did get a chance to sleep, I just could not.
Yes, We volunteered, but until you actually do 105 days out, on a flattop (HVU), you'll never understand. The stress can build up very quickly, therefore the leaders must see this and nip it in the bud. The US Navy does not allow alcohol onboard, only after 55 days at sea, then the crew may get 2 beers, but the CO has the final call.
The hardest part of a deployment, for squids and other military brethen with children/love ones, is when you finally get a chance to call home. You are only 2 months into a 7 month deployment and they ask "When are you coming home ?"
My final comment is about all the ground pounders, everyone in harm's way, regardless of their service. I pray everyday that the families who have lost or recieved back an severely wounded LOVED ONES can look to the future and make the best of it. I can not remember which war it was, but there is a saying "REMEMBERED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN".
You're kidding? These guys are working 12 hours a day seven days a week, and I think it's cool that they've found time to put this together while still maintaining optempo. And working on a flight deck is one of the most dangerous jobs in the military.
And as far as the "senior officer seeing this", the skipper and the XO were in the video.
You effing civilians have no clue. Tis why I can't wait to get back in after I finish college.
I LOVE it! I was cracking up watching, but at the same time, thankful to see those of you, sacrificing your time and lives for us, in this light, as one of all of us! It was so nice seeing you have a "break", and enjoying yourselves! Thanks for the smile!
Good work! Wish we had the electronics to do some of this stuff. A happy crew does GOOD work and is proud, unbeatable team. Congrats from a Vietnam NAVY huey doorgunner!! visit us at seawolf.org
Where is the discipline? Do you see me dancing and doing gay shit at my job? This is shameful... No wonder why all fags end up in the navy... they can't even run 2 miles without dying or buttfucking.
Not even you don't have a clue of what the Navy is all about, but you gave yourself the right to judge others. When what you should be considering is the fact that you have freedom of speech while others stand the watch. For your information when I go to the beauty salon on base army and marine members are doing their toe nails, manicure, changing their hair color, oh and waxing their eyebrows. whoever you are your will never see a sailor doing that. Nonetheless, just because they do that does not mean they are gay.
and by the way ximidar this video would've not make it to this page without seniors approval.
asailorswifePosted just nowi cant stand it when people criticise the men and women in the armed forces. my husband is in the navy and you know what i think they all deserve to do stuff like this because i gave him up for you. i havent seen or heard from him in five months. what the hell did you give up?
I am a civilian. This is the best thing I have seen on the internet in a long time. GO NAVY You Guys and Girls need to have fun some time. Finally something positive about a controversial war. The media just gives us negative info.

I've had a lot of friends that have served in all different branches of the military, and all I can say is- this gives me a little piece of mind that there is some enjoyment for you guys and gals! I commend you on you decision support and defend our country, and you're definitely a lot more courageous than I am. Good luck, and keep havin' fun!
I really enjoyed seeing some of our finest enjoying themselves. Some of the best times of my life was with the 2nd Marine Air Wing. Don't pay any attention to the off color comments from those that don't have a clue.
Fantastic,I think you have just started a comp with other navy`s around the seas.Love to see the Aussie Navy top you but would love to see all Navy`s have a go.World wide Hay Ya comp for all navy`s.Go RAN,RNZN and the RN.
Go Guys.
This video was made aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. My daughter serves aboard the Lincoln, and, yes, she works 12 hours days on a 7 month deployment routinely. Whateverfool said "Do you see me dancing and doing gay shit at my job? This is shameful..." Idiot! These sailors basically work 24 hours a day for 7 months straight and are able to leave the ship for only a few days during that time! The average civilian has no idea what military life is like! It takes a special kind of American to serve in our armed forces. Go Navy!!!!
It takes an American to serve in the US armed forces. That's all! For some bizarre reason, Americans think they are better than anyone else. There is just a lot of them, so they have got a lot of money. They are no better as a country than they are as individuals, neither is any other country any better than the individuals in it. Not all North Koreans are mad, not all Muslims either, not all Americans are happy, do you see where i am coming from? It is like, if America is the greatest country in the world, why did New Orleans wait so long for aid, but the aid to the tsunami victims was there straight away. There is good and bad in every country, be proud of the good and admit the bad. Plus 16 million children in America have no health care, none whatsoever!
