Yeah, but it's gonna be a string of the longest and hardest days of your life from now until the end of your life. Challenges are what make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
And sauerkraut, that's actually very true, come to think of it. I heard today, that something like several hours after you've had your last smoke, your body begins to heal amazingly fast: heart rate improves, cutting chances of a heart attack; blood-pressure eases into 'normal' boundaries'; lung tissue begins to repair itself , increasing stamina and capacity, etc, etc.
But man-oh-man.....I'm chewing gum right now, and I'm literally gnashing it to death.
Canuck
I pray this is permanent for you. I remember when my dad quit, for the 3rd and last time, what he went through. What we all went through. It was ugly. I think he didn't chew gum, though. Might have been vulcanized rubber strips, now that think about it.
Stay away from bars for a little while.
Keep it up.
I knew a guy who used those menthol-eucalyptus cough drops as a substitute to the cigarettes. Good luck man. I have noticed that most people restart when they get pissed off at something or other.
Coming up to almost a week now, and I'm starting to get that fingernails-on-a-blackboard-kind-of-agitation about things. Of course, I'm rational enough to know that this is just my insides rebelling at being denied something they've been fed for a very long time. There are some moments I wanna just climb the effing walls or jump outta my skin, I swear.
But if I don't make a serious effort (and I mean a SERIOUSLY SINCERE effort) to put down those coffin-nails NOW......then I never will.
