hello glumbert, long time lurker first time poster :D

is this some ghost rider? I think so
welcome lurker....as you have likely observed, this video was not the most entertaining...unless listening to engine noise is what you enjoy.

You will find a bunch of smart folks here, although some like to exercise verbal creativity.....my euphemism for crudity. Also, some are Yankee fans. There is obviously no end to God's sense of humor, nor mercy, nor tolerance for defective life forms.

Anyway, hello.

Hi, are you a boy too!
300km/hr=about 187mph
But he only got up to 299? Stupid speedo!
Cheap meter. 299 is probably the top reading.
Had he taken the A5 near Baden-Baden, at night, during the work week, he could have given it the full montey for many, many km. I hear that an Opel family sedan can make 280kph and still have some room between the pedal and the floorboard.
Which Opel model ist that???

My Skoda Superb maxes out at around 240km/h and there are not too many cars which pass me, usually those who do have a three spiked star or four rings on their front (or a horse, no, not a car made by Ford).

Royal blue Opel Ascona, 1980-something, purchased second-hand from a neighborhood car junkie who did fantastic work on engines and bodies. The owner/driver was known for buying replacement cars nearly twice a year.
As a bit of a car nut I'd suggest the Opel sedan of which you speak may either be the Lotus Carlton which could do 180mph or thereabouts with family and luggage, or it may be the later version fo the same thing (still GM stable) but which came from Australia (Holden Commodore)

Skoda VRS - a fast car with an audi engine! Respect!
Opel Ascona, it was. A Porsche 944 could start faster, but the Opel had a top end faster than I cared to test. I do not think the engine was the original 1.9L, or it was sprinkled with magic dust. It did not chug fuel like the 944. The car was uglier than Britney in blue burlap.
Ok, so not really a standard model, was wondering.

Opels always have been good for tuning jobs. A friend of mine had one once that had a racing suspension, you could almost feel a leaf when you ran over it... But it had a nice turning speed.
why is never a open car door when you need it???
Or a neat pack of cement going off the end of a truck...

nice

He's doing 247km/h on one wheel...

Hope he kills himself soon without hurting others.
I didn't want to sound to motherly, but I'm with you....wondering how many children are passengers in those cars swerving (did I spell that right) to avoid this asshole....I would love to do what he did on an open raceway, desert, ice field, you name it...but someone explain to me the thrill of killing (ha, i almost said innocent people, gag, no one is innocent) anyone. Alright let the bashing begin. ha, ha,
9 months ago
Yes, "that" is spelled right.
That's not his speed its his MPG.
You guys obviously owned a cortch rocket in your life. You can't appreciate the skills that this guy has on a motorcycle.

Granted he is being a bit of an idiot, but with the power these things have it is sometimes hard not to open it up and see what she's got.

Its a rush doing 170 mph.......
He is more than a bit of an idiot. There are plenty of places where you can go that fast without endangering other people.

If such an idiot smacks into you at >200km/h you are gone as well.
This must be de-restricted autobhan? I hope so... I'm kinda split on this one as speed is a definite rush, but yes I know it kills.

If he is LEGALLY able to do this speed then whilst to us this may not make it right or responsible, to him it makes it possible...

To be honest most bikers I know are far safer drivers in terms of road awareness then many car drivers simply because they know how vulnerable and invisible they are. You will always get idiots pushing it - Darwinian theory soon sorts them...
The idiots are usually the ones who make it to the headlines...

Driving the speed is legal on much of the German autobahn, but what he does would be sufficient to earn him a hefty fine and a rerun of getting a drivers licencense after spending some time travelling on foot.

Passing a vehicle to the right side is illegal on the German Autobahn except in a traffic jam. Using the emergency stop lane likewise (though law has it that this is less costly if you get caught than passing on the right). Maybe he would also get a charge for endangering other people.
@thebug
Don't think he was on the Autobahn in Germany: I saw green traffic signs. But even if it was there, going on one wheel at these speeds is never legal - no matter what lane he was in.
You are right, this is probably Switzerland, the mix of the cars looks like some central European country and the street signs and license plates would fit with Switzerland. They normally have 120km/h max on their autobahn.
Reminds me of my first Ducati 900SS in 1976 which would go 142 mph out of the crate. I used to drive like that and I have lived to tell about it. I don't ride anymore, though - too dangerous.
Have driven the major highways of France a number of times....Insanity rules those roads. It is obviously a subtle form of European birth control, as most who expire on those roadways are young.

Darwin rules again!

Ducati? Had an Austin Healy, myself....quite some time ago....Sprite, actually, meaning 4 cylinders, lots of sporty noise and open air...but actually quite tame. Not at all like the 3000, which I still aspire to own one day.

Ducati ? Are you serious?
ER doctors don't call them donorcycles for no reason. So beyond Darwinian evolution benefits, the sensible ones that take the bus get (slightly bruised) kidneys and such.

But damn that did look like insane fun.
I love high speed, just got my license back...
Changing from Alfa Romeo to Toyota Corolla did not slow me down much.
the dude's got mad skillz, more than that he's got cojones. But imagine him hitting one unseen pothole while doing a wheelie @ 200 kph. His bike flies he thinks "oh shit" that's his last word. He couldn't think anything else, he didn't have time.

meanwhile his 500 lb machine of metal and plastic flies right into your child's window. Carseats aren't designed for assholes... somehow i think "sorry I was not thinking" doesn't cover it.
I did a similar post above, but you nailed it much better.
Autobahns don't know what a pothole is. The worry is not the road, but rather the other drivers.

Here in the US if you decide to open it up the driver is constantly scanning the road for bad roads and other drivers. If you are travelling a known road then you will know where any bad areas are at, if any. Your main focus becomes the other drivers while secondarily scanning for potential objects lying in the road.
Is it just me or does this seem to be fake ? I mean the speedo reads 260kph when he's overtaking the car towing a caravan. By the look of it, the car (and trailer) would have to be travelling at about 160 -200.
I'd like to see what this speedo reads when the bike is stationary.
LOL
Agreed, Possibly KPH. It looks wrong in some way.
Yeah...that was kinda fast, I guess. But, I have have a an 86 honda civic 4 door that could roast that thing. It's got an air intake, and everything!

A NOX decal will increase HP (PS) by 10%.

this man/women, probably man is going oh so fast, it's truely unbelievable, i drive a citroen 2CV less ego more eco!!!

anyone with a powerful flash car, bike has insecurities and they know it!!
Man and I kept waiting for the crash at the end ;)
Man... Kilometers? All those zeroes are meaningless...
Just understand 300kph is, shall we say, rapid.
... and legal on the Autobahn.
He needs a Hello Kitty stick on the dash to amplify his manliness.

The F1s(?) racing in the rain was so much cooler
9 months ago
Martych - I had the same thought, like the speedometer was fudged upward somehow. He is going hellish fast - but 300 Km? Unless the other cars are all also going about 200, as he just did not seem to be passing them that much more quickly. But then, that is about 150 km faster than I have ever driven, so what do I know what it looks like?.
I thought that too - relative passing speeds didn't seem huge but then perhaps this was Germany and part of a derestricted autobhan?

Other cars may have been doing something like 160, 170 kph on average if this was the case...
I doubt his speedometer was tampered with. He is really moving by some of those other vehicles and you can tell that he is hauling ass. He is going through all the gears and he is winding out when the speedo hits 299km. Either he has had some work done to it, or it is one of the bigger CC's of the Yamaha series.

Suzuki's are sweeter.

Busa!

Have just been on the autobahn today and been going at >200km/h where traffic and law permitted.
His speed looks about right, there may be some offset between the speedometer and the real speed too, so maybe he was really doing 280 or so.
Though his drivng is another thing, he should be shot at sight...
To clarify this thing about the speedometer offset: German law has it that a speedometer must not show less than the vehicle is actually travelling, but it may show up to (as far as I remember) 10% more.

On Youtube, I saw some guy in the States that bought a car in Australia that he fixed up to look like the EXACT replica of the cop car Mad Max drove in his movie. (V-8 Interceptor), complete with "MFP" licence plates, nitrous oxide blower and side exhaust valves. Just Type in "Mad Max", and you'll see it. Cripes, it even SOUNDS like the original car. To this day, I say it's a Ford Falcon.

He did a stellar job on it.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd offer him cash-money on the spot for it.

For sure.
I may be wrong, but I think the original was a Vauxhall Vega.
and................I am wrong. It was a Ford Falcon 969 XB GT. Never listen to your friends reguarding trivia.
LOL!

No sweat, Billy-B.
Do it on a race track you fuc**ng mental case. Gee whiz, your bike goes fast............so do most of them. So do most cars, but we don't all drive full throttle. Too bad the camera didn't show his license plate.
Just because your 82 Yugo only does 94 km/h with the pedal mashed through the rusted out floorboard doesn't mean you have to be a hater.
You are SO wrong. It's an '83.
UDB, I have no problem with speed. Big fan actually. Used to race in my younger days, but on a track, where the only people risking their lives were involved, not innocent bystanders or other motorists.
The same entities that create the laws governing speed and safety also make the laws which govern manufacture, distribution and licensing of the motorcycle, so the message is laws are made to be broken...we dare you to try
