The silent "h" for some is not so silent for others....point being, both "a" and "an" are acceptable, depending on one's pronunciation preference for the word "historical"...preferences vary, clearly, and in fact, can be used differently by the same writer at different points in his writings.
I love this language...and all its vagaries/varieties. It's like, no one is wrong...almost...but much is at least arguable.

The article does unfortunately have a bit of a tainted bias smell to it, "assault rifle" and all. This is merely a AR-15 semi-automatic rifle which besides the "look" is no different from many hunting rifles, do you think this would've made the "news" if it were deemed merely a hunting rifle? I don't think so. Not to mention the fact we're not talking about an inner city slum if you get my drift. Let's also not forget that all local, state and federal laws must be followed (NICS check) additionally the law requires strict criteria to be met before anyone can own this "prize" (or any firearm). Okay...look: I'm gonna wadw into this whole gun-thingy, but before I do, I just want to make one thing clear here, ok? If that's what you and a majority of Americans believe in....hey, all the power to you. Most folks (especially from "outside the box") will fall into a nasty habit of criticizing this belief-system of yours, and that's unfortunate. To each nation, its own, I guess. However, while shying away from any criticism, so to speak, I will say this: maybe it's a "cultural" thing; maybe it's a "mind-set" thing; maybe it's a "political" thing.......all I'm saying is.....I don't understand it. I mean...I just can't comprehend it. I'm fucking this up. Okay: here's why I'm thinking this way:
It's my understanding that this whole "right to bear arms" caveat as written in the Constitution in its entirety, states that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed for any American who is "a part of a well-regulated militia". Constitutional scholars have already said that this law was to allow more easily the arming of the local populace against the British Empire, and thereby assist the Continental Army, who's numbers at that time paled in comparison to the British Army. Ergo, it was a method for quickly raising armed troops in the struggle for independence. Of course, given events as they've unfolded, as with the long passage of time, it has been an archaic piece of legislation in THAT regard. However, successive generations of individuals have hung onto it, and basically turned it into a blanket authorization for a continuously-armed populace. This bears another eerie parallel along a similar line: look at your one dollar bill. See what it says on it? "In God We Trust". When did THAT start appearing on U.S. currency? In the '50's. Know why? The McCarthy hearings, re: when he was running his Senate Committee "Hearings On Un-American Activities"; he had railed so much against the so-called "godless communists infiltrating American society", that suddenly there had to be this affirmation about "god" on money....and there it's stayed ever since. But I digress. Back to the whole gun-thingy:
Having said all of that, am I getting something wrong here? I guess this begs an even BIGGER question: has American society become so violent, so unpredictably dangerous at every turn.....that there is a need to arm the population? That every man, woman and child in the U.S. needs 24. hr., round-the-clock protection (like the President)?

Still, like I said to you a while back...if I ever win the lottery, I'll look you up and come down there, and we is gonna solve ALL of these issues (as well as the worlds!) over the course of a long evening by the campfire.
A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The fact weather or not the right is an individual one has now been settled by the US Supreme Court (for those who thought otherwise) and the findings are;
1. The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
(a) The Amendment's prefatory clause announces a purpose, but does not limit or expand the scope of the second part, the operative clause. The operative clause's text and history demonstrate that it connotes an individual right to keep and bear arms.
(b) The prefatory clause comports with the Court's interpretation of the operative clause. The "militia" comprised all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense. The antifederalists feared that the Federal Government would disarm the people in order to disable this citizen's militia, enabling a politicized standing army or a select militia to rule. The response was to deny Congress power to abridge the ancient right of individuals to keep and bear arms, so that the ideal of a citizens' militia would be preserved.
The fact also remains that not one other of the bill or rights, rights, is anything other than an individual one.
I still must scream loud and clear that a gun is nothing more than a tool, a hunk of metal, like a car or bicycle (which kill more people annually by factors of ten or more) People kill people not guns. I have many many guns, so do my friends, so do my relatives, not one gun has jumped up and killed anyone... ever! Even in self defense!
You of all people should know that incarceration of the criminal scum bags is the only way for civilized societies to function safely. A DOJ study revealed that over 80 percent of violent criminals who use guns to kill are on average three time felony offenders let out of prison early! I see a problem with that!

After all, the winner will be my employee, serving "we the people," pledging an oath to the U.S. Constitution.
* America is $9 trillion in debt. Does this concern you, and if it does, what would you specifically do to work toward eliminating this debt and shave the flagrant waste and corruption of out-of-control bureaucracies?
* Do you think too many Americans receive a paycheck, one way or another, from the government?
* Do you believe the average American is taxed too much, not enough or just about right?
n Name three specific agencies or departments of the federal government you believe could either be drastically reduced or eliminated.
Now name five more.
* Should people who obviously don't care about their health, based on irresponsible lifestyle choices, be included in a nationalized health care program?
* Approval ratings show that Americans are disgusted with politicians. That means you, regardless of political party. Why do you believe this is? What are you going to do about it?
* If "None of the above" were listed on the ballot for president, do you believe "None of the above" would win? Do you know why?
* Would you support changing tax day (April 15th) to the Monday before the first Tuesday in November (the latter being Election Day)?

* As president, if you knew a terrorist group was planning on setting off a biological, chemical or nuclear weapon in New York within 24 hours and one of the terrorists was in custody, and if the only way to get information about the bomb's location was to torture the one in custody, would you authorize torturing the individual?
* If you came home and saw a stranger eating your food at your kitchen table, would you call the police and have the individual arrested for illegally entering your home?

I just knew Miter was a Ted Nugent fan ... he is freakin awesome! He was on MTV Cribs ... I wanna shack up with him! He has great cars, trucks, ATVs, guns, knives, bows ... he would be a helluva good time.
After watching this....I realized what true "comedic genius" really is......it is NOT just the "show".....it is much more importantly.... the "creativity" behind the show...and how it is done. This was incredibly clever, original, and brilliant. This is what made the old "Saturday Night LIve" episodes.....CLASSIC. Whoever put this together....."Don't quit your day job just yet.....but "Get thee to a Saturday Night Live audition"!!!!
