randal, the dope on this clip is that it's groundhogs not people being shot...if you go to YouTube they have this clip being claiming so many different "shooters", Rangers, Marines, etc. What I know about the .50 cal is that it would cleanly remove your head but would not send an entire human body flying like that. They are one hell of a powerful rifle though that needs extra caution when target shooting e.g.,

About a half-hour ago, the wife and I finished watching a 1940 black-and-white flick, called "The 49th Parallel". Basically, it's about a Nazi U-Boat that sneaks into the middle of Hudson Bay. They need fuel and supplies to continue onwards, right? So, the Kraut captain orders an armed landing party ashore, to get some supplies. If anyone stands in their way, waste'em, he says. Then, before they go, the captain gives them this big lecture on how they are the first of a thousand German soldiers to set foot on Canadian soil, and yadda-yadda-yadda. So, they go. But we know these fuckers are somewheres, right? We've just been waiting for them to surface. Shortly after the landing party gets ashore, the R.C.A.F. spots the submarine, and our guys start dropping their loads, and REALLY FUCKED UP THEIR SHIT! The sub sinks, and now what? That landing party are on their own, and now have to traverse across Canada. Why? Because at this stage of the game, the U.S. is hasn't entered the war yet, so they figure if they can get to the border and cross it, then the Yanks have will have no choice but to return them to Germany, because of their German citizenship (there's a twist ending involved here). So, it now becomes one great big chase across at least several provinces.

Venezuela is the third biggest oil supplier to the U.S. (behind Canada and Mexico, respectively). If you look ar the history of the past century, you'll see a pretty definite pattern of things happening, whenever a nation decides to "nationalize" its resources; Cuba and Iran are the two immediate ones I can name. So when THAT happens, and profits of foreign companies are in danger, simply because that nations leader said, "Ummm...no....it's OURS and belongs to OUR people", well, that's begging for trouble. Suddenly, you'll find news stories coming out, that demonizes said nation, and about how they constitute a "threat", and how we'll suddenly need to send in troops, covert operatives, etc, to "save" them, and the need to "stabilize" the region. Recently, a study came out re: rankings of who the "happiest" people are in whatever nation. Apparently, Venezuela and its population came out on top. Gimme some time, I'll dig it up. Plus, I've spoken to a number of Venezuelans over the past few years, and the majority almost always say the same thing: "We don't mind ol' Hugo. He tells Bush to fuck off, so he's a good guy. There's jobs, food, subsidized education, health care, good standard of living. No, we're happy."
Something tells me, that if our Prime Minister said tomorrow that he's "nationalizing" our oil resources.....then watch: we'll have the 7th Fleet blockading us; we'll have the 1st Infantry Division flooding across at Niagra Falls, and prior to all THAT....suddenly the news will be FILLED with stories about "WMD's" up here, terrorists about to launch an attack, we're outta control, etc, etc. The media will FLOOD the airwaves with this nonsense, to justify an attack. It sounds a little far-fetched, I know. But keep in mind: this is EXACTLY what has already happened to ANY nation, that had the audacity to "nationalize" ANY of its resources. It's happened MANY times.

And another thing is that Hugo Chavez has a private deal with Massachusetts to supply oil for the elderly at a reduced price. It seems he does not hate America, he just hates Bush, which I find very funny.

Actually, the point I was making was that it wouldn't be so much an issue of "Bushs wrath", so much as it would be "The Oil Companys Wrath." Really, when you think about it, this is a situation that has panned out many times REGARDLESS of who was sitting in the Oval Office.
Seems to be a standard protocol.
THis is why I honestly think that Barack Obama my be that one-in-a-million who'll break that trend, and finally tell the Corporations to "shove it".
