What is with that INNAPROPRIATE! rocker? Whenever I flip through the channels and see that it makes me laugh. Who is this character?

I think the clips were funny too. I don't like Conan's "stand-up" routine, though. I still can't believe this guy is taking over Leno's spot! Ahh!

Glumbert, do you have any best of Daily Show goodness? That would be awesome!!!

Hey Surf, go to comedy central's site for the DShow. This was OK, but htere doesn't seem to be much coming up on Glum.

I second that, gymyg. If it weren't for the comments/ravings of a few interesting posters, there'd be little reason to revisit here.

BTW...I don't know how others feel, but aliases bother me. Mutiple i.d.'s are explicit expressions of the intent to deceive...in this venue, maybe innocently (for fun), but it does leave me feeling a bit used for someone else's humor...played, as it were, as fools before some superior entity....unwittingly marching to another's whimsical posturings.

So....I'm considering doing it.

HAH! Just kidding.

But doesn't anyone else wonder where some of these people find the time needed to do what they do on this site?? I mean, I know how long it takes me to review the videos and postings....and I am no where near as frequent a participator as a number of others, and I have just ONE i.d., truly, just one. They must spend HOURS AND HOURS, doncha think?

Lastly...just reacting to a very interesting thread elsewhere....the word "arrogance" is so often tossed around loosely, refering to the people of the USA. My view is that it is only accurate for certain specific individuals, the rest of this extraordinary society being hard working "regular" people. That is too bad.

I have heard the French referred to as cold, aloof, superior, and surly (and other less "complimentary" descriptives)...in all the time I have spent in that beautiful country I have found nothing but welcome, and good hearted hospitality (well, maybe one instance of impatience and rudeness, but she was like many other teenagers found everywhere). So....in the minds of so many Americans, the French are rude...not so, but....well, that's what they've been lead to believe.

I think that may be a fair comparison, regarding the "arrogant" American. There are some, to be sure....but that's not mainstream in this country. In my experience, person to person, we are as nice and caring as the Swedes, French, Germans, Australians, New Zealanders, Scots, Irish, English, Norwegians, Dutch, Finns, Austrians, Belgians, Canadians, Icelanders, Portugese, Spanish, Italians, Japanese, Chinese, South Koreans, Greeks, Egyptians, Israelis, Indians, Bangalis, .........well....you get the idea. Forgive the concentration on the north and contiguous countries...just flow of consciousness...and I need to stop before itemizing all the countries of South America, Asia, and Africa, for want of time and space. Point is....painting with a broad brush, where the color is determined by a perception of a prominent few, is seldom accurate.

I quoted an unknown source a while back..."for want of perfection, good was despised". Your average American is a good , hard working person, frustrated with her/his leadership, but good nontheless. We don't deserve that "arrogant" label. We are supporting far too many foreign economies and humanitarian ventures to be labelled "arrogant". We are wrong lots of times, but no other country is so deeply involved around the globe, and we are going to make high-profile blunders...but the average American works his butt off and pays his taxes and supports an extraordinary foreign policy program that delivers to far more of the world's needy than any other country. But, "...for the want of perfection..."

Wow....I guess that was MY rant. Hope I didn't offend anyone. I love the USA and admire Canada, and France, and...well stop here....there are so many wonderful people from different cultures and countries.

Peace to all...Chaz is about to lay his head on a nearby pillow. Being philosophical and moralistic really wears a person out. Well...maybe one more glass of wine.

Chaz

Just read your 'rant' above and i again agree with you, i do agree with most things you say, you i feel take the high ground morally wise, which you've pointed out yourself.

Now i don't know what you think of me, i think i read one reply to one of my more cruder postings which was pretty to the point, which yeh your probably right it was rather crude.

What i'm saying here is i actually agree with nearly everything you say but you wouldn't think it.

As for the comment regarding arrogant americans, i did call Podman arrogant on a previous thread but if you read the postings you'll see that i didn't call americans arrogant i called podman arrogant, i again would point out that sterotyping like you've touched on is to easy and usually used in situations where people feel insecure towards another nation.

I did however say i was fed up with north american whining on glumbert because i didn't understand it, if you read on i pointed out that i wasn't knocking the whining of americans i was pointing out that i just didn't understand the conversation, it was lost in translation

i was having a bad day yesterday as well, so i wasn't being thoughtful about was i was writing

I believe that there are good and bad in all races, i have found people in every country i have visited most welcoming, always, as you've touched on

Chaz you do take the high ground and you're postings sound rather agressive sometimes, but are always to the point and clear which i can only admire.

yeh and the time wasted on glumbert, my god! i've got a pretty stressy job but i only write on glumbert when i'm at work, i have really noticed that it has affected my work, i have made an effort to cut down my time on here.

have a good day

Wow, these are some of his BEST skits? Sad, really really sad. Carson was funnier on an off night than any of these.

Skid...I appreciate your response. You have a good day too.

bill...the scary part is (at least there's some talk) that this guy may replace Leno when he tosses in the towel. I like Leno more than Letterman, but both these guys are in a league O'Brien will never get to, much less Carson's level.
No kidding Chaz. Letterman stopped trying years ago. Leno is harmless but rarely funny. Well, I guess it's better than replacing him with Rosie.(god help us) Why not someone truly funny like Jon Stewart.(or many others.......fill in the blank)

chaz, nice piece up above. and skid, nice remarks. It wasn't a "rant", it was expressing a well thought out opinion. One which I think a lot of people agree with.
and bill, holy geez, I hope you haven't gone and implanted a horrible seed in any exec's minds. "Rosie? Hmmmm, Rosie!" (much scratching of chins and nodding of heads).
America, and the world collectively, would be forced to toss their TV's out of their windows. I would do so, even though I do not live in a high rise, I do not even own an upstairs. It would fall flat to the ground, about four feet. But I do believe it would do the job. The woman has become abhorrent with her slash-mouth rantings and nasally voice. I don't give a rat's ass she's gay. I don't care she's overweight. She's just plain annoying.
Oh randall, the wine, the wine! (picture Tattoo in Fantasy Island!).
