There a clown on the beach, and he is holding a microphone, and then there is the guy in the bear suit showing how media hyperbole about every situation is a crock of shit.
When will these reporters accept that they are reporting on nothing most of the time.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 7, 2008
The Other "Fight Clubs" Are for Sissies: At the August Dog Brothers "Gathering of the Pack" in Southern California, it was "(A)nything goes," according to one warrior (looking to fight with "blunted knives"). A Reuters reporter witnessed two men without padding beat each other with heavy sticks and two others fight with electrically charged knives. The latter duel ended when, during a wrestling hold, one slipped a hand free and planted a 1,000-volt surge. The action seems exhilarating. Said one, "I've never felt better than when I'm doing this." Another: "Honestly, I wish I could find a church with the same spirit of support and love (as I feel here)." Said "Crafty Dog" Denny, it's "higher consciousness through harder contact." [Reuters, 8-20-08]
"Operation Scheduled Departure", a pilot program by the Homeland Security Department's Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, was launched in five cities in hopes that some of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants would deport themselves. An estimated 457,000 illegals were targeted: those who had been ordered to leave, but had not done so. If they volunteered to self-deport under the new program, they wouldn't be prosecuted for staying. During the three-week pilot phase, only eight people volunteered to be deported. "I don't consider the program a failure," said Jim Hayes, in charge of ICE's deportation unit, since the $41,000 effort proved that such programs are ineffective. (New York Times) ...Yep, it's a government program all right.
Canuck, I don't care if you want to talk to me again or not, and I'm not even really sure if it was completely my fault that you left, but I figured I would say sorry anyway.
wicca love means never having to say you're sorry ... or something like that.... tell him how you truly feel.... if he fails to respond then threaten to sue for breach of pormise
Pardon my skepticism but did they "forgot or mismanage" the oil revenue, or did they manage it just fine, and pocketed the kickbacks from big oil into their personal accounts.
All this talk of global financial markets tanking, oil and sex scandal's, global warming, food and oil shortages, hurricanes, tsunamis, terrorists, LHC black holes, extremists, a new president (which ever dirty side of the same coin it may be) putting the final nail in our (US) coffin, immigration, deportation, massive job outsourcing, falling dollar, and the Baghdad boil....to name a few...my thought.....
Just who amongst us is most likely to survive all this? The guy working at the corner party store? Lawyers? Loggers? The wealthy? The poor? Inner city types? Country bumpkins?
Ask yourself this question;
How would I survive if tomorrow if, when I woke up, there was no power, no fuel for either car or home, no food, no water, no phone, no internet, no TV or radio, no medical help of any kind? All you have is what is there with you.
Are you capable, without depending on another, to provide the simple basics of life...shelter, water and food?
Lets go a bit further....after all the above "shit hit the fan" and you're still standing, would you be able to provide yourself, and the ones with you, basic first aid? Can you find a way to heat your "home" if cold? Can you find potable water, or make it? Are you able/capable/armed for finding food, killing a wild animal for that food, knowing what is edible in your environment? Would you be capable of defending your "home" with deadly force if need be? You know, all the things they don't teach you in school. All the things that are neatly provided to you, for a fist-full of bucks.
Being dependent upon others (the government) to the extent most of us are these days, living in denial that the above gloom and doom won't happen is a surefire prescription for death!
I know I'd still be standing, warm, hydrated, fed, and healthy!
What about you?
LOL, all these day's of torrential rain has me thinking oddly, I need to get out!
Actually, when most people are asked this question they say that they could, but it is likely that 90 percent would not.
Even the best prepared would have a very very hard time surviving. In my family I think, only my sister and I could survive, and even with all we know each of us would only have a 50 / 50 shot at survival in the first year.
Most people don't have any idea how dependent they are on technology and the skill and labor of others. There are many books on this subject, but last year I read a good one titled "On the Road". Very grim, and gritty look at post technology life.
...and for those non-American posters who wonder why the so many ignorant Americans are brainwashed into extreme viewpoints, there is this video on the incessant hate speech 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
Interesting. In Germany at least the guy who was talking about killing Michael Moore on radio would have been dragged to court.
Regarding liberalism: The liberal laws in the USA are what allows such assholes to tell their bullshit in public. Any such idiot using "liberal" as a cussword should be slapped unconscious with a dictionary.
War Crimes Conference - Stephen C. Webster Published: Saturday September 13, 2008Saturday morning, the dean of Massachusetts School of Law at Andover will convene a two day planning session with a single focus: To arrest, put to trial and carry out sentence on criminals in the Bush Administration.
The conference, arranged by Lawrence Vevel, cofounder of the Andover school, will focus on which of Bush's officials and members of Congress could be charged with war crimes. The plan also calls for "necessary organizational structures" to be established, with the purpose of pursuing the guilty "to the ends of the Earth.
It would be a lot easier had the USA signed the treaty for the international court, but since the USA is basically exisitng on double standards the international court is only able to get felons from smaller countries.
But in any case Den Haag and this conference at the law school are steps in the right direction: Setting a signal that even those who think are above the law do have to abide to standards. Maybe one day such as GWB will be arrested in their office and put to justice for their crimes against humanity.
Black Monday - It's finally here. Get your snow suit on, it s going to be a heck of a ride. I guess that Lehman Bros. just didn't hire enough lobbyists.
How can media people possibly think they convey anything of importance, ever.
They should feel shame on paydays.
Thankfully most work under poverty level, mostly to feed their obvious ego.
Keep up the boring work !
