You can not train anyone for anything if you are not trained yourself. Neither this female nor the adult male in the scene is apparently able to teach this young man anything about the character of God and more importantly the gift of His Son Jesus.

anyway, this child doesn't need to be taught anything. he has a brain. That 'gift of jesus' talk is christian language for forcing their beliefs upon other people. it's safe to assume that this woman has been forcing her beliefs on this kid for years, and now she's mad as hell because he's rejecting it. i agree though that she's in no position to teach love and moral behavior when she's 'dropping the f-bomb' and physically intimidating him.

Hmm, I suppose I would be wrong to force my belief of "killing is wrong" upon my children. After all, if being a murderer makes him happy who am I to force my beliefs on him. Children "do" need to be taught things. Religion is a basis for what is right and wrong and without it the whole idea falls apart. If there was no god how could you, honestly, convince me of what right and wrong were? You couldn't.
Ofcourse children need to be taught all manner of things. If you feel that religion is one of them, then you should be prepared for your child, who possesses a brain of his own, to possibly reject this later in life. And religion is simply one way of teaching a child boundries and consequences. So is prison. The only difference is that religion offers a reward for being good.
So you have no faith at all in humankind, i see. Without god they are amoral maniacs, incapable of rational thought or empathy. Is empathy taught by religion? Come to think of it, are we born with any inherent emotions, or did god design us to be monsters only so he could offer us a chance at salvation?

If you raised your child as a christian and he became a jew, buddhist, atheist, or murderer, whose fault would it be?

somehow i doubt he was pulling her chain. but if he was, then he and the cameraman knew they would evoke such a response, and were doing it for entertainment. if this is true, they have no respect at all for her. she's obviously failing as a parent. and lets say he isnt pulling her chain - lets say he's serious and he has "lost his faith", so to speak. Then her reaction serves only to reinforce what he has come to believe, and she fails once again as a parent. She offers no discussion, nor makes any attempt at understanding. She just threatens him and intimidates him.
Children test their parents by challenging them. Maybe he is pulling her chain, and maybe this was just a test. I'd say she failed with flying crosses.
Children have a beautiful talent with logic. This is why often the lie of Christianty doesnt escape them. They ask questions - their mentors cant answer them reasonably and rationally - they stop believing.

I am an atheist. Christmas totally rocks as a holiday. It has everything to do with family, Santa, giving gifts, and enjoying some time off of work and a pleasant time of year. The fact that some people think that some guy was born of a virgin mother two thousand years ago and we need to celebrate that is totally irrelevant to my holiday. One of my biggest beefs with the Catholic Church is very simple, its the biggest NON-PROFIT CASH generating organization in the WORLD, and with ALL the money they have and churches filled with GOLD (most of which was stolen from indigenous groups when the "missionaries" with the help of the "conquistadores" scoured the earth and literally fought for it), I would like to know what do they do with ALL that MONEY besides adorn their churches with gold and buy more real estate around the world. Surely there are community programs, but if you looked at their balance sheet, I think you'd agree that most of the money is not spent on "helping the poor", but rather filling their coffers and churches with peoples hard earned money that they think they "need" to give in order to go to a place we call "heaven"... Right!
You can go to any city, town, and village in the world, and there will always be the MAGNIFICENT Gold-decorated catholic church taking in cash every Sunday), and around the church people living in poverty, sleeping in huts and shacks, starving, and they are ALL expected to give or they are made to believe they wont go to "heaven" and are made to feel guilty. It’s a crock of BULL! Where does all that money go?? Does God really care about having Gold-lined alters and religious relics? And what do you think God would say about all the human suffering that took place to get most of that gold that is now in the Vatican? Faith can't be yelled into someone. Give him time and he will come to accept God on his own. Even Thomas (one of Jesus' apostles had doubts) hence the phrase "doubting Thomas." Many faiths - One God.

Shepherds only watch the flock at night during the Spring... that's when Lambs are born... Gee, could that be why Christ is called the Lamb of God? Ya think? Naw, couldn't be!

Is there scriptural support for Yeshua (Jesus) being born on the 1st of Tishri? Yes, in 1 Corinthians 15:45 it says in talking about Yeshua, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit." In 1 Corinthians 15:22, it states, "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ (the Messiah) all shall be made alive." Yeshua is the second Adam, and the rabbi's have long taught that Adam's birthdate was on 1 Tishri. So it is no coincidence that the second Adam has the same exact birth date.
The fact that it is 9-11 is curious, unbelievers.
