I don't like that the video had an agenda. The people that made the video want you to give money to provide fresh water. I think it should have just ended with helping other people.
Now instead of being a good way to rethink something, it became an ad to give.

With the economy the way it is, the last thing we need is for everyone to not buy shit this Christmas. In a couple years I'll listen to this, but for now think of buying gifts as giving back to society because your paying for people to keep their jobs.

A topic that is likely an even bigger thorn in the side of grammarians than the lay/lie dilemma is that of snuck/sneaked. It hasn't been an issue for me for a while, because that's one of the lesser used words in the English language. That is until someone decided to use that word a couple hours ago. I immediately put my hand up in a somewhat obnoxious fashion, and cut them off with the swift justice of my correction before they had even finished acknowledging me. Rude? Yes, but in this case, I don't really care. The problem is that, to begin with, "snuck" isn't even a word. Tell your average person that, and they will respond much in the manner my aforementioned target did: "Huh? Yes it is. I've even seen it in books." (I repeat myself) "It really should be a word." Weeellll- It isn't. Anyway, I just don't see why people can't get that through their heads. It's a pretty simple concept, really.
In regards to the "Extreme Ironing" thread: 1. I think that bus should drive through a narrow tunnel. 2. Why IRONING? 3. Now they should try it in a volcano crater. =)

I hear this all the time, HOWEVER... so many buisness rely on Christmas sales, that if Americans didn't go nuts for Christmas the economy would take a huge punch to the package. With the downturn of the economy this year, it looks like Christmas sales are going to be low, and there are many buisness that are going to be hurting because of it. LIke it or not, that $450 Billion really makes a difference for a lot of people's livelyhoods.
Hey guys, guess what I just picked up on: I was on pac's page, and I just randomly decided to start looking at her picture. This is what I noticed: 1. My first though upon close inspection of the picture was that for some reason the girl on the bike was floating. 2. Look closely, there's no visible shadow under her. That would make a picture abnormal right off the bat. 3. The bike is tilted slightly upward towards its front end, furthering the appearance of levitation. With the camera angle and the backdrop shown, this would be tricky to achieve, all other things aside. 4. Looking closely at the bikes wheels, the color of the cement around the spokes is slightly different than that of the area of cement the bike is "resting" on. 5. Looking even closer at that cement within the wheels confines, there is a seam. Looking at the cement surrounding the wheel, there is also a seam, but IT DOESN'T MATCH THE ONE SHOWN ONLY IN THE WHEELS. 6. The amount of light, the lighting conditions on the bike especially, and somewhat on the girl don't match the weather of the backdrop. 7. There is a slight fuzziness around smaller appendages and protrusions on the bike/girl that I recognize happens when you edit a picture. 8. There is a bit of black around the front tire, which looks like what would be left of a darker shadow when you use the lasso tool or selection type tools in Photoshop or a similar program. This shouldn't be there, unless the rest of the shadow was present. (Which it isn't.)
My final thoughts: This seems to be an edit, fairly simple, not all that complicated, done by removing the girl and bike from one picture and using the layers system to superimpose it on the backdrop photo. The person who did it did a decent job, but it would have done better if another layer had been added for shading, to make the superimposed image match the backdrop.
Now, this obviously brings some questions about pac into play. For one, it would be decent evidence to question pac's sincerity in the information she's given us so far. Sprung off one picture, the fact that it's almost definite she's lied on that one thing, could mean that all the other information is also a lie. Now, pac could simply be hiding her identity for security reasons, but it's usually easier just to turn down someone's request for specifics about yourself, like I do. Why make up a story? To seem like you are someone else. It makes excellent cover if you are an alias, and are trying not to draw attention to this fact. With this, I'll conclude my long-winded bit of detective work, and wait for constructive criticism, other people's views on this, perhaps more information if anyone has it, and the expected "we don't care" or "just shut up already" from some people. Anybody that has taken the patience to read all this, thanks. I'm done for now.

Definitely a photo shopped pic, but I wouldn't judge all pac's comments and such on that.....oh and I was just kidding in the comment above, just pushing you on the hiding identity for security reasons comment. You must know that things are not what the appear to be here, as far as who and what we all portray ourselves to be. Personally, I have nothing to lose anymore, so I just tell it like it is as far as my "recreational" side of life. I'm now having fun with life, playing as damn hard as I work. You never know, this could be the last day, so live like it is!
Hey pac, I did a quick modification of your picture. I circled the areas that were the most crucial; the shading. Also, because of the seam and cement color in the wheels, you would have had to go over the spokes and original color with the surrounding cement's color, then redrawn the spokes (since they are too small too effectively select) and drawn a seam to match the background in both of them. I did a rough job on the front wheel, just to give you an idea of what I mean. Sorry, didn't have enough time for a good one. http://echopic.com/18f5
Yes, I could. But doing skin and getting the shading right, especially if the original isn't either a very light or very dark color, can be very difficult. The last one I did of a real person was about 2 months ago, and that took around 3 hours. After that, I got good enough at drawing that I didn't need to edit people anymore. Although I have improved, it would still take a while.
(By the way, the above question implies that you AREN'T ripped right now.) =)

Hey guys, check out my new profile pic. I took a 3d render of a cross I made and added special effects with a program like photoshop. I especially like the symbol, which I did by creating the shapes in plain red and shading them. It's a cross between an Anarchy sign and a Pentagram. Ol' Mountainclimber's gonna shit BuyBulls when he sees this. ; ) (Chaz, the cross is a great example of how CGI is done. If I was good enough, I could have done the whole thing 3d, but I can't do particle effects.)
